Remove Duplicate Messages (Alternate)
Assegnate 1 su 5 stelle
The May 6, 2023 update has absolutely broken the Remove Duplicate Messages add-on. It runs forever on a folder with just one or two dozen messages, none of them duplicate, and no longer reports "no duplicates found". So sad. It used to be a valuable tool.

Works, but controls are a bit obtuse, having to read instructions to learn to use the correct combination of mouse clicks and Ctrl/Shift keys to make it work. Having a drop-down menu option for the Mark button to set/unset colours and access a help screen would make it easier. (There was a highlighter add-on for Mozilla SeaMonkey Messenger that worked much this way.) Gmail has the highlighter feature now inbuilt; Thunderbird should consider doing so, too.

There is no "download" link or button. This may be due to Google having changed the YouTube page design, beginning around the start of October 2017.
Use Bcc Instead
Assegnate 5 su 5 stelle
It does what it claims. I've installed "Use Bcc Instead" successfully for Thunderbird running on Windows 7 and Linux, but since I usually use SeaMonkey for my email needs, I'd love to see this extension adapted to work with SeaMonkey, too!

This solved my problem with forcing Firefox to remember passwords on certain sites where it wouldn't remember passwords, even when using a "remember passwords" Javascript bookmarklet. The clone feature allows me to copy a password database entry that is working on those sites, change the user name and/or password in the clone, and save it. On the next visit to the page the edited clone login information comes up automatically with its prototype, just as one would expect if Firefox's password management were working properly.
I also use SeaMonkey, which uses much Firefox code, but for some reason it isn't as balky at remembering passwords as Firefox. This is a very useful add-on, giving me equivalent functionality in both browsers.
Highlighter

Correction to my post of August 14, 2012: It does work in SeaMonkey Messenger 2.11. The trick is to open a mail composing window, right-click on the Mail Toolbar, select Customize... from the context menu, then drag the Highlighter icon from the palette to where you want it on the toolbar. Unfortunately, the current incarnation of SeaMonkey doesn't allow one to drag the icon to the Formatting Toolbar (called "Formatting Bar" in Thunderbird), where the icon is automatically installed in Thunderbird, but at least it works. The instructions for this add-on need improvement, both here and at the developer's site. In the alternative, I'd like to see the add-on modified so that it installs in SeaMonkey Messenger as easily as it does in Thunderbird. It is frustrating to use this application when the installation is nebulous and experimentation is needed to get it to work. That's why gave it only three stars.
I found the pink highlighter a bit too dark, trending more toward magenta, so I tweaked the code in the overlay.js file, changing it from 'fdf' to 'faf' (hex colour values), and re-zipped it to create my own customised version of Highlighter xpi file, which I then installed in SeaMonkey.

Stopped working in SeaMonkey 2.9 and later, even with the maxVersion value tweaked in install.rdf. SeaMonkey 2.11 doesn't complain or automatically disable the plugin, but the highlighter no longer appears in the formatting toolbar when composing a message. It was useful while I was still using SeaMonkey 2.8 and I hope to see this tool updated so it works with later versions. Without it, one must resort to tedious HTML editing to highlight text, using <span> tags with background-color style information.
Still works in Thunderbird 14, but that's not the mail client of choice for me.
User Agent Switcher

... after editing the install.rdf file. It would have helped if the author had commented the sections in the install.rdf file with the plain-language equivalents of the cryptic security signatures. Download the .xpi file here by right-clicking on the "Add to Firefox" button. Unzip the .xpi file with Winzip or other archive manager and open the install.rdf file with a text editor such as Notepad or gedit. The SeaMonkey entry is identifiable as {92650c4d-4b8e-4d2a-b7eb-24ecf4f6b63a}. Change the maxVersion value from the default 2.0.* to 2.8.* or 2.9.*, re-zip the archive and change the file name extension from .zip to .xpi. Open the file with SeaMonkey and it will install without a problem.
User Agent Switcher doesn't make your Mozilla-based browser work like Microsoft Internet Explorer, but it will fool "snob" sites that don't even want to let browsers other than MSIE in the door. I can accept that my browser may render the page differently, but please don't bar entry completely. Useful tool.
Highlighter

Highligher 0.6.5 works on SeaMonkey 2.8 after I edited the install.rdf file in the XPI archive to change maxVersion from 2.1a to 2.8, then re-zipped the files into a new archive and changed its extension from .zip to .xpi. The Highlighter widget appears at the extreme right of the Formatting Toolbar, and one must have a screen width of at least 920 pixels to be able to access it. It would be nice if there were an option to move it to the Mail Toolbar, which has fewer items and would allow the window to be as small as 640x480 (standard VGA). In the alternative, the highlighter function could be added to the Format menu.

Works with SeaMonkey 2.8 mail client, although the messages it displays are Thunderbird-specific and the installer is getting rather dated. I had to unzip the XPI archive and modify the install.rdf file with a text editor to allow installation in this version of SeaMonkey, changing the maxVersion value from 2.5a1 to 2.8, then re-zip it into a new archive and change its extension to .xpi. Fortunately, this is something that even a novice user should be able to do. (This review pertains to Folderpane Tools 0.6.1.)
Password Exporter
Assegnate 4 su 5 stelle
The install.rdf version information for SeaMonkey in this extension is seriously out-of-date, but I just edited it to bump it from 2.1b1 to 2.9.*, rezipped it as a .xpi file and successfully installed it in SeaMonkey 2.6.1, as I've been doing for more than a year. It appears to function OK with a trial export of the passwords in both XML and CSV file formats. If you're a SeaMonkey user, right-click on the "Add to SeaMonkey" button and save the file locally so you can unzip it and doctor it with a text editor such as Notepad or gedit. The developer was nice enough to clearly comment the sections in install.rdf to easily identify the appropriate one for SeaMonkey. Since SeaMonkey changed the database format in release 2, it's this tool or nothing for backing up and restoring restored passwords, as far as I know. I'd have given it 5 stars if the install.rdf file had been current for SeaMonkey.
Even if this tool were to stop working for password import, it is extremely useful to be able to save URLs and passwords to a human-readable format such as CSV and store a backup or print them out, in case the worst happens.
Classic Default

Testing in SeaMonkey 2.0.11 on GNOME desktop running on Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS, the text in the main menu toolbar disappears when the mouse cursor passes over each item, instead of showing a mouseover version of the item. The mouseover views may be missing or corrupt in the theme file. The Home Page button is missing the "Home" text, even though I have "Pictures and text" selected in the preferences. It's a good start, though, and I hope the uploader continues and completes this theme, as the SeaMonkey 1.x default theme is vastly better than the two themes that come integrated with SeaMonkey 2.x.

Going to http://www.google.com/ produces exactly the same results now as http://www.google.com/webhp?hl=all. Evidently, after the plugin was created Google changed their system so that is no longer possible to access the old interface, at least not using this method.
Enigmail
Assegnate 3 su 5 stelle
In order to install the Enigmail plugin on Linux, one needs to run SeaMonkey or Thunderbird as root, or as administrator on Vista and Windows XP. Attempting to install it while running the application from a regular user account will cause the installation to fail with a cryptic "Unexpected error -211" message, totally unhelpful to people who haven't memorized the Mozilla error code tables. This critical piece of information can be found on forums, but should have been added to the plugin description here to avoid frustration for users. That's why I give the application a meager 3 stars.
