Great tool indeed!
I got MS-Outlook calendar invitations that did not include the usual "join now" button/link. Recipients using Outlook could participate using the button that the Teams plugin of Outlook places in the menu, but me with Tunderbird couldn't use the invitation at all.
This Add-on saves the day!
You can simple extract the .ics file, save somewere and open it with a text editor to copy the Teams-link to a browser.

If I could suggest a thing: Thunderbird adds a coloured info-line or button-bar on top of the email (in a separate tap as well as in the preview) saying "this email contains an invitation..." with buttons "Accept", "Decline" etc. If this add-on could make the "Get Appointment" button in this info-menu it would perhaps be more easy to find. In my Tunderbird I only see the button if the mail is open in a separate tap next to the "Junk", "Delete" etc. buttons and one could miss it there...
Even better if there would perhaps be a second button like "open Teams-Link in browser", but may be to complicated. Whatever, it is fine!

TLDR - excellent add-on and thanks very much to the author!!!

This add-on works exactly as described: extracts embedded ICS file from Outlook/O365 calendar invites, which allows for download and import into other calendar apps (e.g. Apple macOS Calendar). The gotcha is the invite must be sent to a non-MS account for the "get appointment" button to work; if it's sent from MS to another MS account, the button is non-functional. The workaround is to forward (inline) the invite back to yourself, and the button will work on the forwarded message. Kludgy, but at least provides a functional option until the bug can be addressed. Thanks to Leon and contributors.

Doesn't appear to work unfortunately. The add-on adds a "Get appointment" button to the email but clicking on it does nothing.

A very useful tool! I second the request that the ICS-file is shown such, that the related application (in my case: Outlook) can be directly started.

Highly useful freeware solution to O365/Tbird meeting compatibility problem; not optimal, but worth what I paid for it (free). Gives option to download the otherwise missing ICS attachments from O365 meeting invitations, for importing into a different calendar solution (Mac Calendar, in my case). Does not work for meetings sent prior to installation of this add-on, but workaround is to forward old invites back to yourself (inline only, not as-attachment). Ideal future behavior would be for it to prompt to open ICS in default calendar application, rather than forcing download every time. Thank you, Leon!

great, but does not work as it should
I got "get appointment" button, then the only option offered is to save ics file, then I have to go to Windows explorer, click on ICS, another TB window is opened and I finally see meeting data - this process should be simplified - without saving and opening ics manually

Works as described and solves the Teams issue for me. Thank you for the add-on.

Solved my Microsoft Teams invitation issue (could not see invitation date and time and could not add event to thunderbird calendar)!

My company switched from a webmail service to office365 email and use of microsoft teams for meetings etc. Invitations send from my company colleagues were received in my thunderbird without date/time and without option to accept or add event to calendar. When sending invitation to external e-mail, thunderbird could see the ics file and gives option to accept, add to calendar etc. Microsoft Teams hides, for some reason, the ics file for invitations send from internal (company) invitations.

After 10 hours of searching to solve this issue, I found this, and works like a charm!

Sidenote: it works only for invitations received after installing it, past invitations are still hidden. No worries for me, I just starting using Teams

This is a very useful extension, it allows you to download an ics file that contains the Teams meeting details when someone invites you from an Outlook client to a online meeting using Microsoft applications.
The extension Creates a "Get Appointment" button on the email view title bar so you can click there and download the .ics file.
Thanks a lot to the developper.
