With the release of Thunderbird 8.0, the toolbar in the message window aligns to the left when "Show details" is expanded. When collapsed it is justified correctly. I am sure it is just a minor tweak that needs to be made to make it compatible with 8.0. Other than that this is an essential add-on for saving real estate on your TB window.

Could please test the latest beta (1.4.6beta2, in the development channel). It should fix the problem.
