MailCheck helps prevent accidental email leaks by checking recipient domains before sending. Can be configured to warn & allow users to deny when email messages include non-allowed domains or prohibited domains.

MailCheck helps prevent accidental email leaks by checking recipient domains before a message is sent.
When composing an email, MailCheck examines all recipient addresses (To, CC, and BCC) and compares their domains against a configurable whitelist and block list.
If external recipients are detected, MailCheck can warn the user before sending.
Features
• Warn when sending email to domains outside your trusted whitelist
• Or, warn when sending email to domains that are specifically blacklisted
• Check all recipients including To, CC, and BCC
• Fully configurable domain rules
• Lightweight and privacy-friendly - all checks happen locally in Thunderbird.
MailCheck is useful for preventing accidental disclosure of sensitive information, sending to the wrong recipient, or replying to external threads without noticing.
Privacy & Continuity
This app is completely local. I wrote MailCheck for my own use, and decided to make it available to others for use - so it's going to continue to be supported. However, this also means it's only been tested on Fedora 43 with the most recent (or second to most recent if I'm being slow to upgrade) Thunderbird release, so no guarantees that it'll work elsewhere!
