Messages sent by me are moved by a filter into a folder corresponding to the rexcipient's name under Local Folders.
Thunderbird marks these sent messages always wrongly as Unread.
Unfortunately this add-on can't resolve this annoying quirk.

Have you tried turning the option "Use different event to detect new messages" on? By default the addon listens to incoming mail event sent by Thunderbird. If you enable the option in addon settings then the addon listens to two events - when folder info is changed and when messages are moved. This should solve your problem.

I use it to mark messages as read when an inbox filter copies IMAP messages to Local Folders. I had to enable "use different event to detect new messages", so check that if it doesn't work at first.

This is an excellent add-on. Unfortunately, it stopped working for me a few days ago. I always had to fiddle with the setting whenever I restarted TB, but now nothing works.

Thank you so much. I had been looking for a way to label messages as read when I move them to the trash. Your extension does the job nicely. Thanks !

Works exactly as intended on my accounts, using Betterbird on Arch Linux. Good job.

The dev has fixed the add-on which is now perfectly working.
I use it to prevent notifications and disturbing new messages mentions for newsletter filtered folders I have configured.

I am sorry if the extension does not work for you. You can submit a detailed bug report on the github page, so it would be possible to investigate the problem and fix it for you and others. The next version, which is awaiting approval, has some more logging that can be enabled, so you can also wait for it to be released here to get more info.
