It doesnt work

How does it suppose to work? This add-on says, my SSL encrypted e-mails aren't encrypted (my PC --> my mail host --> my PC, no other parties included). 3 stars for showing the route of the e-mail. I would have given 5 stars if encryption check actually worked.

Hey, it works for most mail hosts, if you want yours to be supported, please send raw headers to my email or create a Github issue https://github.com/gjedeer/paranoia/issues

This is a great addon I have been using for many years now.
It really helps to increase awareness about the path of emails during the day. I spotted many misconfigurations just by having in Thunderbird. Great Addon!

Sorry, but this plugins seems to guess TLS connections to be active.
I checked my actual/ old emails with faces (which are hard to differentiate) and their popup information and many emails without TLS notification in headers between mail servers were still marked as "Perfect - no known email providers and encryption between all hops" ???
Like this not too old email where you can yourself also subscribe/verify this behavior:

=> ESMTP usage isn't ESMTPS (or some TLS written headers)
=> DKIM signature is no encryption - only origin proove !

EDIT:/Answer - yes, sorry forgot to write it initially:
latest Thunderbird: 60.4.0 running with Windows 10 - latest version

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2.7).

It looks like it didn't detect any Received: headers. Even if somehow it was fooled by ESMTP, it would at least recognize gmx.net as a known provider.

Would you mind sharing your Tunderbird version and OS in the issue? https://github.com/gjedeer/paranoia/issues/24

Nice Tool to see if all SMTP connections used to deliver the email have used TLS encrpytion.
I like the option to show all smt hops and their encryption status.

What I would like to have is an option to see a bubble (green, orange, yellow) instead of the smiling face.

The addon is very small and simple with no configuration options. Adding a settings screen is way more free work than I'd like to put into this software, but if someone happens to develop this feature, I'll be happy to merge it.

5 stars because I can't give more than 5. I was searching for this because I want to know how protected my emails are. When I found this I was thrilled. And it works just as it describes and does just what is needed. Great job! Thank you for creating this!!!

This extension is truly outstanding! It's quite revealing to see that even institutions like banks (!!) are running badly configured mail servers.

Nice to know the information this add-on provides. Too bad I don't understand it all and since lavabit went dark, don't know of another easy encryption option. Does not work with Conversations.

It isn't working at all. No icons beneath the receive time of the e-mail.

It works perfectly on my setup. Could you contact me at gdr@gdr.name so we can make it work?

Best stuff! Great idea for those who value anonymity. 'Paranoia' is easy and fun to use. Also I love these icons ^^
