impossible for the simple reason that it's not possible to update a standard contact with a CardBook contact which has 10 email addresses :(

Works perfectly with GMail address book for the both gmail.com and custom domains!

Works perfectly with a cyrus carddav server 3.0.8., the UI could be completely adapted to my personal preferences.
Thank you for your work!

For using in an enterprise environment it would be very helpful, to be able to use Kerberos/GSS-SPNEGO - however it seems not implemented.
These days I can use Thunderbird with Kerberos/GSSAPI for IMAP and SMTP, Kerberos/GSS-SPNEGO with caldav Lightning, but for Cardbook I must use username/password.

Très satisfait de CardBook mais je n'arrive pas à trouver la solution pour effectuer une sauvegarde sur mon PC qui inclue les "notes". Merci pour votre aide.

Really good tool. Is there a way not to save login/password for remote calendar and use the core TB ask pop-up (and obviously connect that to the excellent Keepass module)?

CardBook ist super praktisch. Ich verwende zwar nur lokale Adressbücher, habe aber viele Kontakte zu verwalten. Der Support ist wirklich gut! Das Telefonieren aus CardBook hatte ein kleines Problem mit einem Präfix (z.B. führende Null). Der Entwickler hat prompt reagiert und das Problem gelöst! Vielen Dank!

Great Job! Absolutely perfect add-on to Thunderbird!

I'm using it together with my owncloud on raspberry pi.
- syncing and editing phone- and mailcontacts is now easy and secure.
- Handling of mailinglists is now transparent and easy with "categories" switch-

Thanks a lot, I already spent some euros, and i'm going to increase my donation.

After struggling with GContacts for the past couple of weeks or so, I switched to Cardbook. Fast, easy, HIGHLY customizable. I would LOVE to have Cardbook incorporated directly into Thunderbird as it's address book! A first-rate add-on by some skilled and intuitive developers. Kudos!

Bonjour,
Merci pour ce module très simple d'utilisation. Toutefois je m'aperçois que mes dernières entrées sur mon téléphone, bien que synchronisées dans les contacts de gmail ne sont pas synchronisées par Cardbook sur mon PC.
Quelque chose m'échappe ? Je n'ai absolument rien changé depuis l'installation du module...

je ne suis pas sur d'avoir bien compris :
1/ si vous souhaitez importer les carnets d'adresses standard de Thunderbird vers CardBook, alors il faut faire click droit a droite "Nouveau carnet d'adresses", puis selectionner la troisieme ligne "Importer les carnets d'adresses standards"
2/ si vous voulez exporter les carnets d'adresses de CardBook alors le mieux c'est de faire un export en vcf (click droit sur le carnet d'adresses, puis export...)
3/ si je n'ai pas compris le message, alors sonnez ici : cardbook@cardbook.icu :O)

This has been a game changer for me - from the lumbering, old, built-in Address Book to something that is a quantum leap forward.

Even with the great Add-on "MoreFunctionsForAddressBook" at https://freeshell.de/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html the poor old built-in Address Book just can't compete any longer with CardBook.

Mozilla would do well to introduce CardBook as a complete replacement for Address Book especially as the import function in CardBook works quite well.

CardBook will even properly sync ID photos for online address books.

Frequent attention via frequent updates inspires confidence.

Ist leider nicht kompatibel zum internen Adressbuch und somit für alle anderen Addons nicht nutzbar. Auch wird im Austausch mit Server Datenbank immer wieder ein Datensatz verloren - ganz besonders wenn diese vom Handy aus geändert wurde. Ausbaufähig ist sicher auch die Synchronisation, die nur manuell erfolgen kann.
Der Hype ist für mich nicht nachvollziehbar, zumal es sehr gut funktioniert Synchronisationslösungen mit CardDAV gibt

for what I've understood :
1/ yes it's incompatible with most of others addons... but there already are compatible addons such as Lightning, Mail Merge, Mail Redirect, ...
2/ send me the CardBook synchronisation logs and I will search where is the issue
3/ synchronisation is not only manual but can also be periodic (edit Address book properties, third tab)
4/ if you make a CardDAV sync with the Thunderbird standard address books, it is simply not possible to sync a contact who has 5 email addresses

A must-have for those who use vCard format contact lists!
One question: How do you add a URL for synchronization? When I go into "Preferences" and select the "Sync" tab, it will not allow me to type in the "Address books discovery" field, even after I tick the "Accounts" box.

Hi

right click on the left pane, then "Add New Address Book", then choose remote...
in CardBook preferences, sync tab, discovery groupbox, you will only see CardDAV accounts that were previously added.

Comme toujours, on se demande pourquoi les extensions de ce genre ne sont pas intégrées par défaut ! Tout simplement indispensable, mais incompatible avec les version après la 60.

Amazing tech support and great add-on. I am back on Thunderbird. I tried Windows Mail. What a pain.

Hey, how i can set cardbook addon default in thunderbird ?
I sync my addressbook ( radicale server ) with cardbook - All working. But if i write new email, then thunderbird save my new email address old addressbook, not in cardbook..? I hope you understand my problem :)

in CardBook preferences, email tab, you may collect the outgoing email addresses into CardBook (the email collection into Thunderbird standard address books will also still happen)... then in CardBook preferences, general tab, you may check the option "CardBook as unique source for contacts"

Extremely helpful add-on to manage contacts and to sync them via carddav. My critics is with the date format. As end user it's completely irrelevant for me in which format dates are saved internally. But to display and edit dates I want to have a format, which corresponds to the locale/region, like "DD.MM.YYYY". The required format "YYYYMMDD" to enter birthdates is suboptimal - kindly expresed.
