Google Calendar Tab

Works well, doesn't slow me down like Lightning!
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.1).Lightning

This add-on is a terrific idea with some flaws that make it unusable for now.
The great idea includes syncing with multiple gmail calendars, so events there appear in the lightning interface, and lightning events update the gmail calendar.
The (fatal) downside is that this slows Thunderbird to a crawl, at least as I've used it. On a dual-core Windows XP machine with 3G of RAM, it makes Thunderbird consume at least 50% of the CPU and 0.5G of RAM (and that's with all indexing turned off). Without it, and with indexing turned on, Thunderbird consumes only a few % of CPU and 100M of RAM.
Admittedly, I've pushed it to the limit, by syncing with two different gmail calendars, and have three mail accounts (two POP, one gmail / IMAP). Still, I've experienced a large enough performance difference that loading a single e-mail can take literally minutes.
I look forward to performance-enhancing updates.
