I can confirm that as grahamc has posted it is possible to use this with current versions, such as TBird 12.x
Just install Disable Add-on Compatibility Checks:

OK, so we can get Lightning 1.02 from the link, now all I need is Provider updated so I can tie in to my Google Calendars.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9).To create your own collections, you must have a Mozilla Add-ons account.
