MoreLayouts
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Excellent add-on that hopefully will be eventually updated for TB 115.
To the author: many thanks for your work on this and other add-ons. These are the features of MoreLayouts that I use:
- Attachment List location in Message (I prefer "Top")
- Attachment List location in Compose (Top, always show)
I don't use any of the Tab features of MoreLayouts

Updating my review because, with the help of the developer, I was able to make the addon work. Apparently my API key wasn't allowed to access the model (GPT-4) that I was trying to use in the addon. Switching to the other model solved the issue.
The addon works really well and it's very useful. It's literally having AI help you write your messages!
Please note that you do need an OpenAI API key to be able to use this addon
I'm leaving my original review below, but it's no longer valid
--------------------------------------
Promising idea. Unfortunately, the first published version of the add-on (v. 1.1) doesn't seem to work, with a valid and working API key from OpenAI. I'm able to install, set up and run the add-on, but I get a "Error: Unable to retrieve data" message every time I try to use it.
Hopefully, the developer will solve these bugs in future versions

Sadly, Wikilook is broken again. Maybe someone can make it work again but, considering that the last update was over four years ago, I don't hold much hope.
I can confirm what kolika33 mentioned: Wikilook 2.7.0 conflicts with Adblock Plus. When Wikilook is active, Adblock Plus can't save custom filters. Strange, but true.
Meanwhile, I have found a good alternative for Wikilook. It's not 100% the same, but close enough, and in some respects even better. It's "Wiktionary and Google Translate" (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/google-dictionary-and-google-t/). Try it if you're looking for a Wikilook replacement.
Mnenhy
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
UPDATE:
Happiness was fleeting indeed :)
Mnenhy 0.8.6 worked with Thunderbird until TB was updated to version 31. At least the custom headers feature of Mnenhy 0.8.6 (the one I use most) doesn't work anymore with Thunderbird 31.
So we're stuck with TB 24.* until Mnenhy's developer can update it to work with the latest versions of Thunderbird (crossing fingers! ;) )
Anyway, I'm keeping the five stars for this review because Mnenhy is such a great add-on.
--------
I can confirm that the new version of Mnehny (0.8.6) works perfectly with Thunderbird 24. Thanks, Karsten!!!!
MRC Compose
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is a great add-on, that corrects one of Thunderbird's most evident flaws in the "Compose" window. I've wished for a long time for something like this (which should have been Thunderbird's default, actually) and now I can finally manage recipients for my messages in a much more efficient way. I would have rated this add-on with five stars if it weren't for a small bug that I've just come across. Hopefully, it can be corrected by the developer. The symptom is this: every time I try to send a message, for some reason Thunderbird complains that "There is no TO recipient, only CC/BCC". This is obviously not the case, as I can see that there is indeed a TO recipient. And if I ignore the warning and "send it anyway", the message is sent without issues. I don't know what is triggering this warning. I'm running Thunderbird 17.0.8 (locale es-AR) on Windows XP (Windows also in Spanish). By the way, the warning text is displayed in English, which is neither my Thunderbird's nor my Windows' language, so I'm guessing the warning is caused by this (or maybe another?) add-on
(UPDATED with bug symptoms and system information)
BTW, I just tested the bug described in the comment below mine (the bug with the attachments) and I can't reproduce it. I'm not seeing the attachment being incorrectly added to message #2
---------------
UPDATE 2:
Eureka! I've found the cause of the bug that I was experiencing. This add-on is found "Not guilty" and therefore its rating increased to some well-deserved 5 stars :)
The "guilty" add-on is Flexible Identity (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/flexible-identity/). It has an option that displays a warning "if there is no TO (only CC/BCC) recipients". Unfortunately, it seems that these two add-ons (MRC Compose and Flexible Identity) are mutually incompatible. Flexible Identity simply doesn't work when MRC Compose is being used :(
I hope this incompatibility can be fixed, because I'd hate having to choose between one or the other.

It looks like, sadly, Wikilook's development has stopped. And recent changes in Firefox mean that Wikilook is no longer working as it used to.
Fortunately, user Alan Stewart has posted a working fix at Wikilook's Support page (http://groups.google.com/group/wikilook).
In case you don't have access to that Support page, I'm copying the fix here so more people have access to it:
------
In the file chrome/wikilook/content/wikilook.js line 4746 is not valid syntax in the newer javascript engine:
globalPackageWL.WikiLook_Overlay.PMaker.WLWTajaxCallbackImpl(res.expandtemplates.*);
Changing that line to an alternate equivalent syntax:
globalPackageWL.WikiLook_Overlay.PMaker.WLWTajaxCallbackImpl(res.expandtemplates['*']);
works for me - all of wikilook is functional with ff21
------
All credit for this fix should go to Alan Stewart, I'm just copying his solution here.
Google Tasks Sync
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
This is a great and very promising add-on. I've just tried it and, after allowing Thunderbird to accept cookies, it works. However, I'm seeing a strange bug when synchronizing tasks with Google: the date of the task on TB and on Google differ by 1 day. So if I set a due date for a task on Google on December 18th, that same task shows the due date as December 17th on Thunderbird. The due date for any task on Google is always 1 day after than the date that I see on TB. It doesn't matter if I create the task on Thunderbird or on Google, the due dates always differ by 1 day. Quite strange, but hopefully easily correctable.

Great add-on! It's a much needed replacement to Openbook. It greatly simplifies adding bookmarks and organizing them. Plus, the author is really responsive to bug reports. I submitted a new bug report introduced by the update to Firefox 16, and he posted a new version of Edit Bookmark Plus which fixes the bug within a few hours of my report.

This is a great add-on. It fixes one of those (many) details you would think that Thunderbird should include by default but somehow doesn't. Fortunately there is a great community of add-on developers ready to step in and fix many of those little annoyances. Thank you, jikamens, for developing and publishing this add-on.

UPDATE: the developer has corrected this bug in v 1.0.2 (just a few hours after I reported it). Thank you! I'm updating the rating from 3 to 5 stars because I can now use this add-on. My original review is below.
-----------------------------------
I just tried this add-on and it partly works. It seems to work in "normal" folders, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work in Smart Folders, which I'm using. So, unless it can be fixed to work in Smart Folders too, it's of no use to me.

Great! It's working again (v. 2.2.1). Thanks to Vitaly, the developer, (or whoever updated it) for fixing it.

Promising add-on. I like the concept.
A couple of suggestions for the developer:
- Please post more screenshots of the add-on at work
- Describe how it works more thoroughly so people can get a better idea of what it does before installing it.

Unfortunately this very good add-on has been semi-abandoned (no updates in the last 12 months ...)
But fortunately there is an excellent alternative that is being actively developed: Menu icons Plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8266).

Wow! This is surprisingly full-featured and bug-free for being a 0.0.1 release. Very promising add-on.
The only two cons that i found is that it's a bit slow in loading the "reduced size" pages and that it's somewhat heavy memory-wise.
But the pros are many. Worth checking it out.

Wrong!
Black Google DOES NOT save energy, except if you're using a CRT monitor. Given that most monitors nowadays are LCD monitors, the energy savings are inexistent. Please read the detailed review here: http://techlogg.com/content/view/360/31/

Looking forward to updates with more software detected.
