TbSync
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Would have a LOT more users if the setup of Google-4-TbSync was easier. Google-4-TbSync is an extension that TbSync needs to do its thing . It's not the developer's fault; it's the hoops Google forces users through to use a 3rd party add-ons. I'm an ex-programmer & it took a while even for me. You want to go slowly & not dig yourself a hole. Google-4-TbSync's directions are about 85% complete. And Google indicates on one screen that that screen is soon going to change, so Google-4-TbSync's directions will also have to be updated (hopefully). It's the price we pay for security these days.
Anyway, once fully installed, TbSync is running fine. I used to maintain two address books: Google Contacts & Thunderbird contacts. No more.
Note that you set "Read Only" mode when you eventually get around to configuring the account you want to sync. Don't waste time looking for a TbSync or Google-4-TbSync "options" page. It pops up when you specify the account you're going to sync (towards the end of everything else you have to do). The version of TbSync that I downloaded had it set by default, anyway.
To create your own collections, you must have a Mozilla Add-ons account.
