Extension List Dumper 2

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

At this time my only issue with this updated version of Extension List Dumper is the Read-Only attribute that is applied to saved files. This prevents overwriting a previously saved list and generates a JavaScript Application error:

Component returned failure code: 0x80520015 (NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED) [nsIFileOutputStream.init]

What the extension should do is either not set the Read-Only attribute, ask for your permission to overwrite the existing file or give you another opportunity to change the output file name. With the latter defeating the purpose of having a predefined file name configured in the settings. I may tweak the extension to see if I can stop the attribute from being applied.

Ordinarily I would have removed a star due to the error handling. But, because this extension dumper does NOT include a wacky flower background, which all by itself adds one star, the net result is even. ;)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0).

Just type "extension list" (without quotes) into the AMO search field and press the Enter key. Sorted by relevance, both the Sogame and Iceberg versions will appear at the top of the results. Click accordingly.

@RDL
At this time, I would not have given this extension a 5-star rating. Primarily since this extension, as it exists today, does not work with current versions of Firefox.

Download YouTube Videos as MP4

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

In the "About this Add-on" section it states that this add-on "requires Firefox 14 or later". This is not entirely correct. While I cannot speak to other earlier versions of Firefox, as of this review, "Download YouTube Videos as MP4" v1.6.5 works without issue in Firefox v3.6.28 when the minimum version restriction is removed.

I did not remove any stars from my review because despite the artificial restriction, the author has done a superb job of creating and maintaining this add-on. I see no reason why I can't spend 1 minute removing the restriction so that it works in my choice of browser. Yet, if possible, I would like to see the minimum version restriction lifted so that future updates automatically appear within Firefox.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6.4.1-signed).
