Seems precisely what I was looking for but asking "... full, unrestricted access to Thunderbird, and your computer" is a bit too much risk for my taste. I give the average 4 stars evaluation only for the idea.

I would like to see the TB API be more specific and or better organized to allow the functionality of this plugin without full access. I wait with using this add-on until then. I would like to know if there is a way to influence this, without being a TB developer.

TB 91.4.1 under Linux

Thank you for your kind review! Thunderbird's still evolving modern WebExtension API should eventually provide all needed functionality for this and many other add-ons. In the meantime one has to trust the thorough review each legacy add-on has to pass.

Does exactly what it says on the box, immediately, intuitively and without any trouble.

Another plea for an updated version for the latest TB.

I have been using this addon for several years and without it I'd have to look for an alternative to TB.

Please test and leave feedback!

One of the best, if not the best add-on for TB.
Just noticed an issue, seems to no longer work with TB v. 78.
Any chance it can be updated?

Works great in TB 68.x. Are there any plans on updating it to work on TB 78.x? Love the plugin... would hate to lose it.

This add-on doesn't work anymore. Pity. It used to be a great one.

Up till Thunderbird 60, this was usually the first add-on I installed. One of the most useful I ever used.

Since then, very disappointing. Even though a version has since been released for the current 68 version, it does not work.

I would give 10 stars if I was still on 60, but now that I have moved up to 68 and lost one of my favorites, it will have to be just one. Would give it 0 if that was possible, but the concept alone deserves a star.

Thank you so much for updating Folder Account to work with current TB versions!
This add-on is essential for me and none of the other add-ons that try to facilitate coping with different identities really works seamlessly for me. Folder Account does! No more wrong sender addresses. Should be part of TB itself!

Having emails from different email addresses forwarded into one big imap account, the add-on enables me to reply using the correct email address. Great!

*Now again working for TB60!* Thank you very much. As the old version was not working with TB60, I had the painful chance to notice, how valuable this plugin is!

Worked great until TB60. Hope there will be an update to support >= TB60.

Great addon which I used for years. 5 stars because of that.

Unfortunally the addon does not work anymore since TB 60.0 - it totally breaks the message window (new messages, reply, forward - just everything).

I hope there will be an update for TB 60, please please please!

Exactly what I wanted. Lets you choose your identity on a per-folder basis, from the folder properties dialogue. This should be default Thunderbird code.

I hope the developer updates it to work with TB 60.

I tried the addon, and like said below, changing the from account of one folder, changes from of all folders. I see no benefit in using this addon.

The extension is not displayed as incompatible in TB 45.5.0, but still, it's not working anymore. Whenever you set a "From Account" in the folder properties dialog, it is being changed to the new setting in *all* folders of this account, making this a per-account setting. This is actually TB's default behavior, hence, the add-on currently is not working for me.

It used to work very well, though, back in the days.

The AddOn works like expected (with Thunderbird 38.4.0 at the moment). The feature request from David.P is implemented as an option - also per folder, which is just the right thing:
Ignore From account on Reply or Reply (let Thunderbird choose)

Well in MY case TB did exactly the opposite and was sending mail with the wrong address when I did not pay attention to choose the correct account whereas the Seamonkey mail client did it correct. But as I use some addons that have no equivalent in SeaMonkey I was very pleased with this add-on. In my case I always route mail to certain folders, connected to a certain account and in the past replying to lists always picked the right mail address as "sent" but that behaviour suddenly disappeared and it took me a lot of effort to first find out why and changing settings in the about:config.
So: Big thank you for creating and maintaining this add-on!
