About this Add-on
The source code for Email This! is available on GitHub.
I am no longer updating this add-on with new features or fixing any currently existing feature that malfunctions.
I will still update the extension to be compatible with future versions of Firefox.
If you need an alternative extension for Email This!, I recommend F1 by Mozilla Labs and Shareaholic.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Email This! will send your recipient the link, title, & highlighted text of the page you are viewing using GMail, Google Apps GMail, Yahoo, and Stand-Alone Mail Clients like Outlook Express, Thunderbird, & More!
Email This is compatible with SeaMonkey and the eMusic Remote!
Install
After downloading (and restarting Firefox), Go to VIEW>TOOLBARS>CUSTOMIZE and drag the email-this button of your choice icon/button to the tool bar. You can also use the Right-click/context menu or hotkeys (see below).
Button Colors
Red = GMail
Orange - Google Apps Gmail
Green = Yahoo
Blue = Stand-Alone Client
For Gmail
The Gmail Compose-Message page will open in a new tab.
The title of article/webpage you are viewing will go in the subject line of your email.
The address/url will go in the body area of the email.
The highlighted-text will appear below the address/url
For Yahoo
1] Go To: Tools >> Add-Ons >> Email This! Preferences.
2] Login to Yahoo Mail Classic and look at the Url/Addres Bar
3] You should see something similar to: http://us.mc590.mail.yahoo.com/mc/ or http://us.mc590.mail.yahoo.com/ym/
4] Not everyone will have us.mc590 before mail.yahoo.com
5] Not everyone will have /mc/ or /ym/ after mail.yahoo.com
6] Write in everything you see in the address bar through the mc/ or ym/ (without http://)
7] For instance, I would write in us.mc590.mail.yahoo.com/mc/ (and nothing else following it)
8] Make sure there is an / at the end your input in the text box.
9] The extension will work the same as it does for Gmail and Google Apps Gmail after these configurations will be put in place.
For Google Apps Gmail
First, configure your domain to work with Email This, go to: Tools >> Add-Ons >> Email This! Preferences.
The Gmail Compose-Message page will open in a new tab.
The title of article/webpage you are viewing will go in the subject line of your email.
The address/url will go in the body area of the email.
The highlighted-text will appear below the address/url
For Stand-Alone Clients (and Seamonkey)
The stand-alone program (such as outlook express or thunderbird) will open up the Compose-New-Message screen in a new system-window.
The title of article/webpage you are viewing will go in the subject line of your email.
The address/url will go in the body area of the email.
The highlighted-text will appear below the address/url.
Hot Keys
For Windows/*nix users:
Gmail: alt + windows key + g
Yahoo: alt + windows key + y
Google Apps Gmail: alt + windows key + a
Stand Alone Mail Client (and Seamonkey): alt + windows key + k
For Mac users
Gmail: option + command key + g
Yahoo: option + command key + y
Google Apps Gmail: option + command key + a
Stand Alone Mail Client (and Seamonkey): option + command key + k
