Review for mms Auto Correct by Ian
Rated 3 out of 5 stars
I have the same problem as Nick2222, when I try to open addon-options "The autocorrect file could not be loaded, check the JavaScript Console for reason(s)". I am running v1.0.1 of the add-on, TB 12.0.1 and Windows 2000. autocorrect.txt is present under my TB profile. The auto capitalisation (which is what I mostly wanted) seems to work OK, except that it doesn't capitalize the first letter on a line, even when that is the start of a sentence. Thanks for writing/maintaning this, even more if you fix these issues ;-)EDIT: I get the following messages in the Error console, which may be related:mmsAutoCorrect: e-TypeError: sfile.initWithPath is not a functionTimestamp: 14/05/2013 10:39:36 aError: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80070057 (NS_ERROR_ILLEGAL_VALUE) [nsIDOMKeyEvent.initKeyEvent]" nsresult: "0x80070057 (NS_ERROR_ILLEGAL_VALUE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://autocorrect/content/settings.js :: <TOP_LEVEL> :: line 455" data: no]
EDIT:
I've now tried 1.0.2, and it made no difference. (incidentally, why is 1.0.2 not the 'default'? - I could only find it under 'other versions'). I will see if I can try this on a more modern combination of Windows/TB.
Ian,
Would you mind trying version 1.0.2 to see whether it fixes the first problem you mentioned? I would not have expected to have that error under Windows, but I don't have a Win2K system upon which to test.
Currently the autocapitalization is based on a previous period ('.'). I'll see what I can do about your beginning-of-line suggestion.
The error console exception is not related to either of these, but thanks for pointing it out. I will fix it in the next release.
Thanks for your encouragement!
