I saw the devolper said that we can use FiltaQuilla, but I can't seem to get it to filter my messages and then make a tone like this one did. The way they have it set up now, you have to make a tone for every spam message or nothing. I want filtered messages to make a tone. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.
can you raise an issue on the filtaquilla github please and then I can help you directly. The sounds are queued in a way to avoid duplicates where possible.

I am another ToneQuilla user eagerly awaiting support for Thunderbird 68!
If you are running Thunderbird 78 or later, you can now add sounds via FiltaQuilla instead.

I was able to get this to work partially for TB60. You have to disable strict compatibility in TB60 Settings/Advanced-Config Editor. (Set it to FALSE). Just search for 'strictcom'.
Bad news is, that only sounds you already had set prior to updating to TB60 will play upon Filter Execution. Clicking the folder icon to change a sound, or add a sound in a new rule, does not function. Sound files not in all lower-case font, also will not work. Luckily, I only had two like that, which I seldom need. ;-)
Please! Update this Add-on for TB60+

Please, update the extension for Thunderbird 60! Or add an action to FiltaQuilla for playing a sound, please.

I am really sad that this addon doesn't work with the newer version of Thunderbird.
I am so used to hearing the sounds which I set when I receive emails that sometimes I don't realize I got an email...
I really hope that the addon is updated.

Somewhat recent reviews suggest it still works, but I installed and didn't see any way to adjust settings for it.

This should be built in Thunderbird. Excellant extension. Please make it work with all Thunderbird Updates IMMEDIATELY. Fine tune notifications for each sender. Fantastic! Great for different business lead providers! Priority is immediately known. Make it work on all. Thanks

Works fine. Not sure why Mozilla thinks it won't. This functionality should be built into Thunderbird.

OK, so this is the gem in the place worth grabbing. You walk into the cave with lots of gold, diamonds and emeralds and all you are looking for is to have the siren go off for that certain one you grab, not the whole thing, not for when something/anything gets grabbed, but only that certain one. This one allows you to filter that when this ONE email author/subject line sends me an email, then play a sound and there are a bunch of sounds to choose from when you click the folder to choose a sound. Yes! Just what I was looking for!!! Should be built into the darn thing and this has to be the least known about of an add-on there is- YOUR DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH!!!

After bug 323911 I was considering how to go about bug 261841. But there's no better or more flexible way to fine tune sound notifications than the message filter based ToneQuilla. Should be built in. Maybe even enhanced to include customizing popup notifications in the same way.
One small issue, on linux at least, is that not all of the packaged sound files work; applause.wav does not while drumriff.wav does. The .mp3 file opens a default player.
If you are running Thunderbird 78 or later, you can now add sounds via FiltaQuilla instead.

I've used this addon for a long time and it's always worked great -- it's a vital part of my daily workflow. Needless to say, I was upset to discover it was automatically disabled by Thunderbird today with the message: "ToneQuilla is incompatible with Thunderbird 15.0.1."
Is there a way to make it work again? Quickly? :)
UPDATE: OK - I installed the addon "Disable Add-on Compatibility Checks" and it appears to be working fine now. I'll update this review if anything else goes wrong.
This has been reported before. It is some glitch in the AMO update process. A version that is unchanged, but claims compatibility internally through Thunderbird 24.*, is at
