Good idea, but needs a button. The path to open is just as bad as having an extra unwanted tab in the taskbar. With reminders, that is usually 3 taskbar buttons taken up by Thunderbird. Not a mark on the maker. I get a bit sick of Thunderbird continually breaking good plugin features with updates.

A real pity this does not work any more. Was a great work around for Custom Buttons³ (A way to make regular tools easily acessible)

Please make this work for latest Thunderbird. (68+) I am running an old version until this can be updated. I also added my comment to this being standard in Thunderbird on Bugzilla forum.
This is not a case of making a tab in Thunderbird, but moving the tab from the taskbar to where it should be, in Thunderbird's tab bar.
