My Reviews
SoundCloud Downloader
Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Hijacks traffic to Google Search and Bing, sending the search query to Yahoo! instead.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.2).FastPrevNext
Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Reviewing version 10 on Firefox 39. There is not much to tell: This plug-in tries to find an iterator at the end of the URL and increase or decrease it. It places its small user interface in the address bar and reveals it only when the mouse is over there, thus and causes conflict with reading mode icon there.
With only user interface and functionality to consider, the only feasible scores for this add-on is either 1 or 3 or 5.
Mozilla Archive Format, with MHT and Faithful Save
Rated 3 out of 5 stars
This is nice bit of feature to have, especially it lets users open MHT files in their Firefox instances and benefit from the added security that Firefox add-ons provide.
However, it is not compatible with Outlook 2013. The MHT file that Outlook generates with its "View in Browser" command does not render well in Firefox with this add-on.
Wikipedia (SSL)
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Extremely useful for Wikipedia editors who use Wikipedia over SSL connections, since the secure Wikipedia site requires a separate sign-in.
I cannot confirm whether this provider has search suggestions. (Search suggestions does not work properly in my Firefox anyway.)
Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This plugin is an official and competent replacement for FFClickOnce by James Dobson. It allows publishers of Open Source or free applications to publish their products so that it is downloaded and installed painlessly, in the same manner that a Firefox add-on is installed.
Unfortunately, this add-on received an undeservedly bad reputation because in its first version, it could have not been uninstalled or disabled. Although applications like Internet Download Manager or Orbit Downloader still include such intrusive add-ons, they never received such criticism as this add-on did -- only because this add-on is from Microsoft and bashing Microsoft has become a sport these days.
Microsoft has now resolved the old problem with this plug-in and has published updates for it via Automatic Update or Microsoft Update.
To create your own collections, you must have a Mozilla Add-ons account.
