"just works"! Helps me keep track of things I need to follow up on, thereby helping me keep my inbox clean.

Very useful and flexible. My wishlist item for this addon is the ability to add a text field to add an optional note to the reminder. This would be really useful.
Hey superkev, thanks for the review. Adding notes is a great idea (and worked in mailmindr before Thunderbird 68). I'll add it to the wishlist for the upcoming releases - or if you have a GitHub account, feel free to file a feature request by yourself: https://github.com/mailmindr/issues/issues

Thanks for replying. I didn't know the addon file includes the source code. Was expecting a link to a code repo.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6.1). This user has 2 previous reviews of this add-on.Rated 3 out of 5 stars
The tagline: Follow up for Thunderbird E-Mails should be changed to:
Reminder for Thunderbird emails.
Otherwise a good add-on.

Unfortunately, this addon freezes Thunderbird 115.4.+ every few seconds. Using Thunderbird is only possible with deactivated mailmindr.
Please urgently eliminate this bug! The addon was great before!

when it works, the add-on is great
Doesn't work on TB 115 Supernova (it does but every 10 sec Thunderbird is not answering)
I will give 5 start when this will be sorted out because apart then this I love the add-on.
I wish it will be also possible to filter the upcoming follow-up

Thank you for the upgrade for TB 115!

Looks promising so far, wish I'd found it a long time ago. I am also a dark mode user though and while the primary window (when creating a new follow-up) works fine in my dark mode, clicking the 'Follow-Ups' button up on the task bar does not -- the text inside the popup is dark and unreadable. Thanks for your efforts Arnd!
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.0).Thanks tgice, that you like mailmindr. The dark mode issues will be solved within the next update that will be released within the next weeks. Very useful add-on. But as many others have said, it would be great to have dark mode.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.0).Salut Gerard,
already commented it on another review: full dark mode support will come with v1.5.0 which is currently in review phase and will be available shortly.
Please drop a an email to hello (a) mailmindr.net if you miss more features in mailmindr. This would help me to make mailmindr even better.
Thanks, arnd.

Very good add on, but please enable dark mode!
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.0).Hi Peter,
thanks for the rating. Full dark mode support will come with v1.5.0 which is currently in review phase and will be available shortly.

It is very useful, but working bad in darkmode
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.0).I heard you. And you are absolutely right.
So I took quite some time and fixed the dark mode support - beside some other things. So if there are any more glitches with the dark mode support, please let me know and drop a line to hello (a) mailmindr (.) net (and please add a note what I can do to make this a five-star-rating).
Have a productive day,
arnd.

Arnd, can you tell me why 'Move to Icebox Folder' checkbox may be greyed out when I need to snooze a message?
I have Icebox folders selected for Messages, Local Folders and Newsfeeds. I can't select default icebox folder - the dropdown just flicks and does not select anything.
Thanks
Hello Ascar,
sorry for the late response. Sadly I can confirm that this was broken in 1.4.0, so I did a good portion of time and rwrote this part. mailmindr 1.5.0 is currently in review phase and will be available in the very near future. If you then still experience glitches please drop a mail to hello (a) mailmindr . net
Thanks for taking the time to add a rating. And again, please accept my apologies for responding that late.
arnd.

Hi.
There are so many issues, while using this reminder.
1. It does not reflect to "Unread email" "Flags" "Reminder alert" Not able to distinguish from normal email to follow up email.
2. It does not move to specified ICE BOX folder.
3. Can not open the email from the reminder window on top right corner of TB or from the notification window.
It is a good add-on if its rectified the issues, it deserves at-least 4 star
I am using Windows 10 with TB 102.2

Very helpful for remembering mails!
Since the last updates the colors in darkmode seem to be inverted. Bad to see because of the low contrast.

ACHTUNG!
edit:
- viele Accounts mit einer überschaubaren Zahl Unterordner
- Win11

Does what it should do and is of great help.
However, it makes Thunderbird more or less unusable. Uses 100% of one of my cores. Disabling the extension immediatly resolve the problem. But with mailmindr running thunderbird becomes unusable.
5 Stars but as it doesn't work only 3
Thunderbird: 91.6.2
3 accounts, many folders and subfolders
ArchLinux System
Other addons: *cloud, AllowHTML Temp, AutoarchiveReloaded, CardBook, DKIM Verifier, Google-4Tb-Sync, MailMerge, Provider für CalDAV und CArddav, Provider für Exchange Active sync, TBsync
Hi Gregor,
thanks for taking the time to review the extension.
You're correct that there's a performance issue with many folders and emails. This is also known by the Thunderbird team, and we're working on a solution.
The system information you provided is also super helpful (thanks again), as I haven't tested mailmindr on Arch Linux yet.
If you're interested in becoming a tester for the performance issue please reach out to hello @ mailmindr.net
Have a good day and sorry for the inconvenience,
Arnd.

Thanks, I'm so glad I found this, just what I was looking for!
Question for anyone: When I add a reminder, the email of course moves to my "Icebox" folder. If I delete the reminder via the "Follow-ups" button in the main T-bird window, the email remains in the Icebox folder. Is that functionality correct? I was expecting it to move back to it's original location -- more like "undoing" the reminder completely. If this is correct, that's ok, I just want to be sure that's what's supposed to happen.
Second, I wonder if it's a bug. If I have one reminder set for an email, and I click on the Follow-ups button in the main T-bird window, and then click on that reminder, it opens up the email in a new tab. BUT, the "from" and "subject" fields are not always correct, instead they are sometimes taken from a completely different email, that was not part of the reminder at all. Hmmm.
TimOlaf, thanks for your kind words that you like mailmindr. And that said, sorry for the delayed response.
To answer directly to your two issues:
Question 1) When removing a reminder the corresponding message isn't moved back to its original location
Answer 1) That's - for now (January 2022) - correct. Only the reminder is removed and the message still remains in the icebox folder. Do you want to have a feature to undo the reminder completely?
Question 2) When opening the message via the "popup list" in the main window the header fields are not correct
Answer 2) This sound like a bug in Thunderbird, not mailmindr. Did I understand this correctly that the 'from" and "subject" field in the opened message aren't correct, but the message actually *is* the message you have set a follow-up for via mailmindr? Or are the entries in the "popup list" not correct?
As you might not be able to answer via the messaging system in the extension reviews, please reach out via Twitter, Facebook or email. Please find the contact details here: https://mailmindr.net/contact
Belated but maybe not too late: happy new year!
Best, arnd.

mailminder 1.1.0
Works like a charm with some considerations….
It took a little bit of mental gymnastics but here is the process flow that I have put together:
1) Customize Thunderbird’s menu by adding the “Follow-Ups” button
2) Create a local folder: mailminder pending
3) Set these options in mailminder:
... a) Default action: Flag/Star message
... b) Icebox folder: (Local Folders) mailminder pending
4) Launch mailminder (context menu, or button on email’s menu bar)
... a) Set date and time for reminder
... b) insure that Action is “flag/Star message”
... c) insure that “Move to icebox folder” is checked
5) How to verify that mailminder is managing the email?
... a) Click the “Follow-Ups” button on the Thunderbird menu
... b) View the contents of (Local Folders) mailminder pending
... c) Open the message in (Local Folders) mailminder pending
... d) click on the “Followup” button on the email’s menu bar to display mailminder’s settings for the message
6) When mailminder displays its Reminder dialog, note that the email has been returned to origin folder and that it is now starred.
7) In Thunderbird’s inbox display (or unified inbox display), sort messages on “starred” to locate the email
8) Dismiss the reminder by either:
... a) clicking on the “Dismiss” button in the reminder dialog
... b) deleting the reminder for the email via Thunderbird’s “Follow Ups” button
... c) canceling the reminder from the email’s “Follow Ups” button
... d) As needed, use Thunderbird’s “un-mark” function to remove the star from the email
When setting/unsetting mailminder functions, be patient, it seems that it takes a brief amount of time for mailminder to process the request. It is all too easy to set multiple mailminder “reminders” for an email; use Thunderbird’s “Follow-Ups” button to verify…...
