On my win7 laptop it works great! But on the office machine (OpenSuse 11) it compact the header fields but leave the gray header rectangle of the same size, it is not useful. Hope it will be fixed soon (present in 1.2.4 and 1.3 beta).

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.4).

Have you installed any non-standard themes on your Linux machine? It is known that e.g. the Noia theme is not compatible with CompactHeader.
