This is just what I was looking for: the add-on for search engines bar in FF, unlike the right click tool I installed before.
Installed without any problems, as all other add-ons I tried, and works fine.

The only improvement I could think of would be opening search results in a new tab, instead of the same window. Otherwise perfect.

Add-on works fine. This review is more about StartPage search engine. Privacy search, search results by date, image and video search.

Frequently gets not specific results, contrary what you asked about. Tip: use advanced search to make sure that search was done not for "any of the terms" instead of "all". If this fails, use a different search engines for better results.

Despite all of this, Ixquick and StartPage are my search engines of choice for years.

Add-on works excellent, Ixquick's privacy works excellent too, what I don't like are the results of Ixquick search. Terms I was looking for very frequently absent in the found pages, phrases ignored, excluded terms appear as mandatory - quite a waste of time trying to find something. Last years this seems to be common for many search engines.

What helps without solving a problem: using advanced search. It looks like simple search uses "any of the terms" option, no matter are you using "+" or "AND".

For some reason, Ixquick displays above results something like "you used exclusion operator " - ", to see results without it, click here" - annoying, as if you don't know that you tried to do more specific search and were offered the unfiltered bulk instead.

Many results are obsolete (no search for the past year), so if your search is time sensitive, use Google-like StartPage, the sister search engine of Ixquick, which does privacy searches too.

Despite all of this, Ixquick and StartPage are my search engines of choice for years: comparable search results with others search engines plus increased privacy.
