Hallo C-E,
in der manifest.json 3.1.0 steht allerdings

Deshalb findet man das Add.on nicht, wenn man direkt aus dem Thunderbird 140 das Add-on sucht.

Edit: Das Problem habe ich verstanden. Nur erklärt das nicht, warum mein thunderbird 140 (ESR) das Addon nicht findet, wenn ich es aus der Addonverwaltung des thunderbirds direkt suche.
Dann müsste es doch angezeigt werden.

bitte richte Deine Kritik an die Thunderbird-Developer - dieses Verhalten ist so gewünscht: Zitat aus Bug 1735812: "Yes, uploading a new XPI with an updated max version setting would fix the issue, but contradicts the intended behavior to increase the allowed max version after it has been verified to work, without the need to actually upload a new version."

"If you have an XPI which is limited to 91.* and try to install it in a more recent version of Firefox, Firefox checks the update server for a compatible version and if the update server responds with a compatible version, it will install that version (regardless of the max version setting in the manifest of the local and/or downloaded XPI). "

Der Hintergrund ist: Wenn jeder Add-on-Developer eine neue Version hochlädt, nur weil sich strict_max_version in manifest.json ändert, werden die Add-on-Reviewer jedesmal mit Review-Anfragen überschwemmt, wenn sich die TB-Version ändert. Um das zu verhindern, wurde es so eingerichtet, dass die max version nur auf ATN geändert werden muss, um das Add-on kompatibel zu halten.
Im konkreten Fall steht in meinem Search Button Add-on Version 3.1.0 "strict_max_version": "136.*" in der manifest.json, aber auf ATN steht: Compatibility: 126.0 - 140.*
Das ist so korrekt. Es ist von TB-Seite nicht gewünscht, dass ich das Add-on jedesmal ändere und auf ATN mit neuer max version hochlade.

I would love to have the possibility to open Global Search (Edit → Find → Global search) with a similar icon, do you have any hint?

Thank you for a great add-on!
Very good because it also allows easy search of the calendar. You need to enable the button via customise toolbar to do this.

Ich finde das Teil genial. Gerade für Personen, die es nicht so mit der Technik haben, ist ein einfacher Button präsenter als eine Tastaturkombination, die bei seltenem Gebrauch vergessen und eine Suche im Menü als zu umständlich empfunden wird. Danke.
