Awesome. You saved my day. Yahoo IMAP always shows an annoying "Archive" folder which becomes blue along with the "Inbox" folder every time an email arrives. Impossible to remove or hide except with this magical extension. Cheers.

Top Add-on! My Inbox was suddenly additionally marked as "Drafts", so all eMails were opened for editing, not for reading. This Add-on solved my problem very easily. Just removed the additional mark as "Drafts" and Inbox behaved as before. Thanks for this very helpful Add-on.

Top notch!
Since I had a "Junk" and a "Bulk" folder after I set up a yahoo account in Thunderbird, I deleted the "Bulk" one which seems to have caused a lot of problems. It appeared in the Trash folder over and over again .... With this Add-On I was able to get it out of the Trash folder .... Works great! Wish this was a built-in feature.

Nice tool, like how "Flags" is listed after right clicking on the folder and selecting properties.
Works fine on Linux and Windows systems.

The addon does nothing obvious. The "flags" tab which should be displayed in the folder preferences simply does not appear.

Great tool, super helpful to solve a problem where I accidentally moved the Bulk/Junk folder into Trash (Installed the extension, right clicked on the 'Bulk' folder in the 'Trash' folder, selected Properties -> Flags tab -> unticked the Bulk flag and clicked the OK button. Bulk folder icon changed to a standard folder icon, I could then left click and drag the 'Bulk' folder from Trash to the root level [the account name/address] and it worked! 'Bulk' folder back in normal position. Few moments later the icon changed to the ordinary Bulk icon and done. )

As with Demired in September this add on solved my version of that issue. In my case TB had decided to flag the inbox as as "templates". When I clicked on a message it opened in write mode, presumably because it had used the message as a template for a new one.
Hmm I just realised. This might also mean I can create an actual templates folder ( I don't have one) too. If so I'd give this 20 out of 10- because it does so much more than it was written for.

This solved the issue I had, when one of my folders was set as drafts folder, out of nowhere. Thank you...

Version 1.4.2 runs on TB102 with one small issue: Clicking on 'Flags' shows the quota and clicking on 'Quota' shows the flags.

Very useful add-on but after update to the latest version "flags" tab disappear.
I'm using TB 78.10.1 (64-bit) and Folder Flags 1.4.1

I am hoping this will be updated for Thunderbird 78. :)

Have been using this as a very useful add on for a long time i.e for creating sub folder of Sent Items and associated Sent folder flags easily. Struggling to find a way to do so without the add on under TB 78 version.

I'd love to see this updated to work with TB 78

Allows to modify folder flags. But sadly not the RFC 6154 IMAP ones.

This add-on allowed me to set the "Deleted Items" folder of my institution e-mail provided by Microsoft an fowarded by IMAP as the Trash folder in Thunderbird.
There was no option in Thunderbird to define the Trash folder. Weird, considering that you can pretty much define any other folder.

This was done in the latest stable release so 5 out of 5.

The Thunderbird Bayes filter was not scanning my folders from a ProcMail filter. I changed the flag on those other folders that are input folders, and now Thunderbird scans them for spam. Thanks!

@Domènec: The latest version 1.2.3 doesn't appear to work on Local Folders (the "Flags" tab is not shown) - I don't know whether this is a bug or intentional (the later is more likely). The "Flags" tab appears in the "Folder Properties" dialog for IMAP folders, where the original problem this extension tries to solve resides.

On TB2 it works very well!
But on TB5 I can't found it!!! :(
On Properties window I see "General information" and "Retention Policy" tabs, but I not found folder flags tab!!!
I can't found any equivalent menu option, neither.

This bug has been fixed In 1.2.4. Thanks for letting me know.

Perfect! This extension was exactly what I was looking for. I use subfolders beneath the Junk Mail folder and Thunderbird kept moving messages from the subfolders into the top-level junk folder because it was re-flagging them as spam. This put a stop to that.
