Can't install under Thunderbird 2.0.0.22 German (only compatible with 2.0a1 to 2.0b2)
Quick and Dirty - Workaround:
1.Open the xpi with e.g. WinRar, extract and edit "install.rdf"
2.change the values of the first and/or second entry of e.g. from 2.0b1 to 2.5
3.save
4.replace the original install.rdf in the xpi.
5. Install the Addon in TB

Oooops, I have to correct myself from my last post - after the dictionary became disabled in my system for a short period of time (a day or two), it suddenly started working again - like nothing had happened!
(which I find strange, but there we are)

Unfortunately, it doesn't work with the new Thunderbird v2.0.0.22.
Hope the developer comes up with an updated version of this highly useful plugin, ASAP!!!

people are so impatient, giving one star allready .... this is very useful for me because the internet has a majority of anglophones and I need to write in English (how annoying)

Excellent add-on, but it really needs updated as there are quite a few American spelt words in the dictionary (so some words wrongly show as misspelt when they are not)!
As far as I can tell, there is still no way to amend the "custom dictionary" that it uses to allow you to add words to (so you cannot remove words that you accidentally added)!!
Apart from that, this is a fantastic add-on that makes on-line chatting/blogging etc. a breeze to do :-)

And lots which it incorrectly labels as incorrect, I have a hard time spelling as it is but this makes life harder as I have to double check with Google, which always says it's perfect yet this doesn't. Wish they would make a good Google dictionary add-on.

With regard to Psilax's comment, no the version available for Download at my post date isn't for Firefox 3.0.11, the max version is for Firefox 2.0b2, so this is for Firefox version 1 & Firefox 2 betas only! Someone must be putting up old versions because no one bothered to change the version number. I am sure there was a version for download which worked for Firefox 2 & 3 before.
I have had to change the maxversions to 3.6 for all products so it will install until someone at Mozilla fixes the download.
