That's it!!! I tried to use the html code you suggested <br> and after ticking the html format box at the top of the signature box, it works just fine now. Thank you for your add on and for your time and good advice. Unlike soem of the reviewers, I think it's a great feature to be able to decide when you want your signature to be inserted or not. Cheers,
R.
Perfect! Thank you for using add-signature :-)
I think this feature should be a default of thunderbird.

Back again. Thanks for the suggestion. I successfully removed the path from the location box. So now, with the automatic signature insertion from thunderbird I get the sig displayed properly, but if I tick the "insert signature from file" box and then try to use Add Signature, it still displays the text as a continuous line. Thanks anyways. I'm going to try to uninstall it and reinstall it after a fresh download, you never know.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2).Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Thanks again
The odd thing is it doesn't now, so I'll paly around with it a little a let you know.
Just FYI, I initially tried the regular function in thunderbird, I wrote a text signature and ticked the box in account settings. It worked fine, but inserted it in every email. I then downloaded your add-on and it took me a while to understand that you had to write something in the signature box, tick the add signature from file box and that it would only work then.
Now to try and answer your question, I ticked the insert text signature box again, and it does the same as with add signature, the text appears as a continuous line. The only other problem that I have is that I can't get thunderbird to forget the file path (I had also tried to insert a signature from file, saved as a txt document). Although I have removed the file from its location the path remains in the address line, even when I manually delete it. On closing account settings and reopening it, it reappears in the box.
Thank you, I will let you know if I find a way out of it.
You could try to open about:config (http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config), find your path and remove it there.

Thanks for your reply. I tried with the html and text format. All I did in terms of editing was press the enter key to go to nex line when I wanted a new line, eg
John Smith
The Example Company
12, Instance road
and so on. What I get in the email when I right-click and add signature is John Smith The Example Company 12, Instance road
I'm no expert but I guess there must be a simple way of fixing it. Thanks
I did exactly the same and it works for me...
Does it work without add-signature?
Add-signature just adds the signature as text or html without changing it, it uses the functions included with thunderbird. So I don't really know what or where to fix :-)
Maybe it's a problem with your thunderbird version or installation.

Thanks for the add-on. Works fine, except I can't get the signature to break down into different lines. It does not appear as it does in thunderbird text/html signature box. Sorry if this is confusing, but I would like it to look like an address with a series of lines, and it appears as an uninterrupted line.
Thanks for any help
Works for me without any problems!
I wrote the signature with line-breaks and it got inserted with them. Did you use html-code (<br>)? I did not.
