Auto-login and message counts are disabled for me as well.
FYI:

is where you will find the fix for this problem. Reading some of the thread, it may be related to some changes google made to their gmail service...

This is a great extension... Unfortunately, it's not functioning at all - and I'm not even using 3 beta! (on 2.0.0.14). It installs, but there's no way to access it. (Options button is gray in Add-ons window)
I hope you fix it so that's usable... Right now, I don't think anyone wants to install this one just yet.
To create your own collections, you must have a Mozilla Add-ons account.
