Through his Mozilla profile and his Twitter account, the maintainer indicates that he has retired from Thunderbird extension development. There have been no updates in almost 3 years. I would resume contributing user-agent icons if someone else wants to maintain this extension.

Its code now lives at https://github.com/marcelstoer/display-mail-user-agent-t. Contributions are very much welcome. Please take a look at the issues list to see what I already reported and fixed.

Unfortunately for providers like ProtonMail it doesn't detect or show anything. Most automated mails also don't have anything in there, which is okay but it leaves a blank space in the header that looks ugly when this happen. There should be a placeholder icon when it can't detect anything.

(Due to lack of other means of sending feedback, questions or bug reports to the author, I'll send it disguised as a review.)
From earlier versions of this wonderful add-on I remember we could send suggestions for new icons. When no icon was found, I could still click on a placeholder icon that would open an email template with some information already prefilled. I don't see this option anymore, at least not on 128.5.1esr.

Benutze das Add-on schon seit vielen Jahren. Es ist ein sehr nützliches, weil informatives Tool in TB. Jetzt wird es in TB nebula 128.4.2esr (64-Bit) for Linux Mint mint-001 - 1.0 nicht mehr in den Mails angezeigt. Als 'inkompatibel' ist aber nicht markiert. Ich bin mir sicher, dass der Entwickler https://addons.thunderbird.net/de/thunderbird/user/Toshi_/ diesen kleinen 'Bug' bemerkt und das Add-on anpassen wird.
Davon abgesehen, vielen Dank an den Entwickler Toshi, dass dieser Fork supported wird! Klasse Arbeit!
このアドオンは長年使っている。TB では非常に便利で有益なツールです。TB nebula 128.4.2esr (64-Bit) for Linux Mint mint-001 - 1.0 のメールに表示されなくなりました。しかし、'incompatible' としてマークされていません。開発者 https://addons.thunderbird.net/de/thunderbird/user/Toshi_/ がこの小さな「バグ」に気付き、アドオンを適応してくれることを確信 しています。
それとは別に、このフォークをサポートしてくれている開発者 Toshi 氏に感謝します！素晴らしい仕事だ！

Thunderbird 115.9.0 64 Bit doesn't work at all.

As much as I like the add-on, it feels there is no more development happening. A Thunderbird email client version TB 115 is still not detected/shown as such. Are there any plans to keep this add-on updated? Lastt update was in July 2022.

The Add-on is very usefull. But, sadly, it does not work with Thunderbird 115, aka Supernova.
