Wikipedia (https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/) is an openly-editable, free content internet encyclopedia. This search bar add-on utilizes SSL to protect searches between You and Wikipedia.
Wikipedia claims to keep "no more information is collected than is typically collected by web sites". When a page is edited by a logged-in editor, the server confidentially stores related IP information for a limited period of time, which is automatically deleted after an undefined "set period". For editors who do not log in, the IP address used is publicly and permanently credited as the author of the edit.
The searches and search suggestions made using Wikipedia in the Firefox Search bar are subject to the privacy policy of The Wikimedia Foundation, which can be found at the following address: http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_policy
