Remove Duplicate Messages

I tried the original "Remove Duplicate Messages" add on to attempt to remove about 2 thousand duplicates in a large IMAP folder after a mail migration. A horrible experience when it actually started creating multiple emails in the trash IMAP folder - 48 thousand of them until I had to forcibly kill TBird!!
Installed this alternate one and it had many more features, and quite simply just worked! Excellent - thank you so much!
I did get a "script has stopped responding" error which I just clicked continue through, but no complaints from me.

Tried this add on in Thunderbird 2 to remove a multitude of duplicate emails that had appeared in an IMAP folder after a mail migration.
Defaults to moving messages to trash folder with no option for immediate delete, and in fact just about killed the email server when it chugged along and happily CREATED 48,000 duplicate emails in the trash folder before I killed the process. Use this abandoned version at your peril.
Instead go for the alternate one as listed below, direct link https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/4654
which worked much better (ie it actually did what it was supposed to!) and offered many more options.
