Does exactly what in its description: adds more detailed fields, so you can have more info about senders (or recipients) with a glance. "From" field customization really should be a default feature in Thunderbird.

This add-on seems to do exactly what I am searching for, but why does it require "full, unrestricted access to Thunderbird, and your computer"?
Deal-breaker for me, unless there is a pretty good reason.

Edit: thanks for your fast answer. I may reconsider.

A nice add-on to focus the important mail. I suggest using different icons for "Cc" and "To" situation, that is matter.

A rather brilliant creation in particular with the additional code provided in where send by you messages can be displayed in italics and give them a light-green background to have them stand out. Previous Eudora users especially will appreciate that! All features work perfect!

It would be easier than to have to configure all of my "From" addresses. By default this addon gets most of my Sent emails wrong, thinking they are incoming. If it's in "Sent", it's outgoing!

In my local folders which contain discussion threads the correnspondant column list the "from" field which in many cases is me, rather than the person who I sent the note to.

I don't need the From column in my SENT message/thread pane and I don't need the To column in my inbox. This replaces both with 'Correspondent' and an arrow pointing in or out. PERFECT!

This is something I searched for a long time!

However, the default symbols "<<<" and "<" for "mails just for me" and "list mails" should be exactly the other way round: more "<" signs for more recipients.

I still love this extension and have been glad to donate in the past. But why is it now only available for Linux? Is there a way to install it on Mac too I would think? I wanted to install it in a new profile and the page says "not available for your platform", never happened in the past. UPDATE: I downloaded the xpi and installed from the file on Mac OS X 10.8.5 and it seems to work fine.

UPdate in response to dev's response: I don't see anything wrong in the options dialog. What is the problem? (I'm not a dev who can help, I am just curious). I installed the linux version and it seems to work fine on my macbook.

due to a problem in the options dialog, which seems to not run correctly on Mac, the AMO reviewers refuses to approve the add-on for the public. Therefore i had to uncheck the 'runs on Mac' checkbox. Probably anyone can help with the options dialog?

On my system the column wasn't even wide enough to fit the icon and couldn't be resized. But the newer version you referred to fixed it :-)

I really like the way it works and that it is highly customizable via userChrome.css.

But unfortunately it stopped working with TB20 (Earlybird). It now shows the size of the email instead of the name.

This is a really logical step, but after years of viewing things the traditional way, this really takes some getting used to.

I'm not so sure how many would stick with it, but I can see definite benefits for those who do.
