Undigestify RFC 1153, ListStar, and Yahoo digest messages
Об этом дополнении
Executive summary
To undigestify a message containing an RFC 1153 or ListStar digest, select it and then select the "Undigestify" command on the "Message" menu, or right-click on it in the thread pane and select "Undigestify" in the pop-up menu. If the message is a valid digest, then its constituent messages will be appear in the same folder as the original. Otherwise, an error message will be displayed explaining why the message could not be undigestified.
Additional information
Internet Request For Comments (RFC) 1153 defines the "Digest Message Format", a simple format for encapsulating a series of plain-text email messages within a single message. Briefly, each digest message contains:
- a preamble followed by a separator line of 70 hyphens and a blank line;
- one or more enclosed messages, each followed by a separator line of 30 hyphens and a blank line; and
- a footer whose first line starts with "End of" and whose second line consists of nothing but asterisks.
Nowadays, digests are much less common, but there are still some mailing lists, e.g., the RISKS Digest, that use them. This add-on adds digest splitting functionality to Thunderbird for people who still receive RFC 1153 digests.
Note that this add-on is compatible with Postbox in addition to Thunderbird.
