After Years of loosing friends - in my adress book - this seems to be the first working solution!
In contrast to syncing the original thunderbird contacts via sogo and loosing contact details without further notice due to the very restricted attributes in thunderbird, now Phillipes Cardbook is syncing and displaying all cardDAV attributes of my owncloud database in a very flexible way.

I found this addon only by accident.
When searching for "cardDAV" this tool was not displayed.
@Philippe: please introduce the word cardDAV in Your description!!
