I am so pleased with this Add-on, I cannot express my joy. Migrating from Outlook to Thunderbird 3.1.10 /Lightning, while trying to maintain sync with Gmail account as well as with my Blackberry has been a trip to hell and back (I think I'm almost there!... er, "back", that is!)... but this step was both simple and flawless. It automatically synced my main contact list ("My Contacts") in Gmail, as well as all Contact subgroups. My deepest appreciation!!
