The concept is good, but there's room for improvement on the user interface:
- VirusTotal tends to have false positive and there is no way to determine if it's okay or not: the add-on should give more details on the scanned files and how many virus checkers think there's an issue
- when selecting a mail, the add-on sends directly the attached files to VirusTotal, but then get stucked in the verification process (I wait for 10 seconds): user feedback could be improved.
I appreciate that files are send only once (then the file signature is used to verify the result).
This project is open source and maintained in my spare time.
If you encounter issues or have suggestions, opening a GitHub issue is the most effective way to get them addressed. That allows problems to be investigated and improved properly.

It works and is quite fast. But is it possible to somehow make the mail be checked automatically after receiving it? Because now, as I understand it, I need to press a button. Personally it's not difficult for me, but I'm setting this up for my relative and she might to forget...

Is Good, BUT please read the T+Cs of virustotal.com. From what I can tell you effectively hand over all of your attachments etc to them and they can do anything they like..

Great and useful add-on! Many thanks for that. Just one thing: I use Betterbird (version: 102.11.0-bb35). The Details page is in English - but not the settings (= in Dutch). Furthermore, the information on the email header is also in Dutch, e.g. "Geen virussen gedetecteerd in een van de bijlagen!) or "Polling voor bijlageresultaten...", etc. Not a big deal, but maybe you can fix that in the next update. Thanks!
이 검토는 현재 부가 기능의 이전 (1.2.0) 버전에 대한 것입니다.Thanks for the kind feedback! The language issue is likely an issue with your thunderbird settings. The details page will always be in English as that is fetched directly from the manifest file (it's a static entry).
The preferences (settings) tab and everything else for the add-on is based on the language that is set in Thunderbird.
