When this extension is installed on my Thunderbird, I am not able to see messages with attachments. This persists on all the accounts I have attached to Thunderbird. I have removed it for the time being but hope it will be fixed sometime soon.

Please see the support site for issues. In particular there is a pinned issue for this which has already been fixed in version 4.3.8 of the add-on.
