I've had v8.2.0 installed locally on browsers from v38 through v53 (Nightly) and hadn't noticed the problems described. Maybe I didn't notice them, maybe it's dependent on any number of other factors: OS, language, browser setting, usage, related to another add-on, a bug in code, etc.
