Github explains that the add-on follows ESR channel which is still on 128 at this time. I wanted more/newer and found the intermediate (non-official) version for 136. Then I manually installed the unsupported xpi which brought it back to life in 137.0.1. So far it works.
Checkout https://github.com/rsjtdrjgfuzkfg/thunderbird-birthdaycalendar to assess the risks. I'll probably try to build myself next.
Otherwise 5*. Not fair to rate the add-on against newer version compatibility. Thumbs up to the author.

Dieses Add-On war sehr hilfreich und hatte gut funktioniert. Leider ist es nicht mit ThunderBird 136 kompatibel und der Author ist nicht per E-Mail erreichbar.

* einige Kontakte werden nicht übernommen
* Namen mit Umlauten werden nicht korrekt dargestellt (locale, UTF-8 ???)

I've implemented 'Lightning' and 'Provider for Google Calendar', and have established good 'handshake' between calendars. 'Birthday Calendar' correctly extracts birth dates from my Address Book and displays in Lightning. However, the 'Birthday Calendar' information is not transmitted to my Google Calendar. Is there a mechanism to share Birthday Calendar with Google?

Ratings are not a good place for questions. To still try to answer your question: the calendars (multiple!) you see in Thunderbird are completely separate, it would not make sense to "share" them with each other.

To get the functionality you want, the common method is to have something like Birthday Calendar on every device, and sync the contacts using a different mechanism. That said, as address books contain tons of personal information of others, I'd strongly recommend to use something privacy-friendly for the sync instead of Google: even if you personally are fine with Google having your data, your contacts might not want you to expose their data to Google!)

Ein tolles Add-On! Man sieht die wichtigen Daten: Name und Alter. Nicht wie bei Outlook, wo vor jedem Namen der Text "Geburtstag von" steht! Das Alter sieht man nur +- 2 Jahre- kann man aber ändern.

Thanks, This addon is great on the few birthday's I've tested. Is it possible to get it working with Cardbook address lists? I've started using Cardbook and am no longer maintaining Thunderbird's default address books. Cardbook is CardDAV compliant and they are trying to have it become the default address book for Thunderbird.

CardBook has its own birthday calendar feature, that uses different, incompatible concepts. I'd suggest to use that if you use CardBook for contacts.

Also, CardBook does not interface with Thunderbird's add-on APIs and is thus inaccessible for other add-ons like this one ;)

Hello friend, thank you for resuming the Birthday Calendar. I have a question, could you add an election setting like <input type = radio> - 1. one calendar for all address books; 2.one calendar for one address book - as it works today. I have over 20 address books and that many calendars are a bit of a burden. The more that it is about the same anniversary. If it is not too burdensome, this is a request for you. The previous add-on with this name did just that - it created one calendar. Greetings from Poland.

Can you update the version? I downloaded it and make the max version to 89 in the manifest.json and it works great ;) So I think you could also make this directly, would make it more comfortable to install it

I'm uncomfortable marking add-ons as compatible with a version of Thunderbird that I do not actively support. I only test on ESR releases as maintaining add-ons for all beta versions is more work than I can currently handle, especially as the add-on is free.

That beings said I'm glad to hear it works in 89 for you :)

Leider war es mir nicht möglich, mein Adressbuch mit den Kontakten anzugeben. Ich bekomme nur drei zur Auswahl, ein gmail-Adressbuch, ein "Persönliches Adressbuch" und "Gesammelte Adressen". Das CARDDAV-Adressbuch, in dem meine Kontakte stehen, kann ich nicht auswählen.
Dennoch vier Sterne, weil der Entwickler einen sehr guten Hinweis zu einem Add-on gab, das er nicht zu verantworten hat (CardBook). Vorbildlich!
Ein Stern Abzug bleibt, wegen rudimentärer Beschreibung seines Add.ons. Ich hoffe, der Entwickler kann damit leben ;-)

Bewertungen sind der falsche Ort, um Support zu erhalten. Für die Zukunft: in der Seitenleiste von fast allen Add-ons stehen Kontaktdaten.

Zum konkreten Problem: ich würde darauf tippen, dass es kein CardDAV-Adressbuch in Thunderbird gibt – sondern das Add-on "CardBook" genutzt wird, eine eigenständige und von Thunderbird unabhängige Adressbuch-Anwendung. CardBook-Adressbücher sind für andere Add-ons nicht erreichbar. Das wäre auch für einen Geburtatagskalender nicht sinnvoll: CardBook hat ein eigenes Konzept für Geburtstagskalender, das zu unterlaufen könnte langfristig Probleme verursachen.

Falls es ein echtes Thunderbird-Adressbuch ist (via TbSync), sollte es in den Einstellungen des Geburtstagskalender-Add-ons auftauchen. Wenn dem nicht so ist kann man das eventuell per Mail klären – hier in den Bewertungen wird es aber etwas eng.
