I'm an addon developer and I can assure you I didn't give the Ask Toolbar permission to install on my computer.

First thing I knew about it was my CPU running at 80C ... which I tracked down to the Ask Updater and the Ask Toolbar. All gone now and I'm not happy with the Ask.com company ethics.
