Correct Identity

Version 1.4.5 has removed the greyed-out send button bug and works correctly now. Everything is therefore back to normal. Thank you.

The greyed-out send button is obviously a very common issue, but there has been no response of any kind from the dev. Is there any chance that this will be fixed in the near future?
This could be either a version 1.4.5 or, at the least, the withdrawal of 1.4.4, which causes the problem. Version 1.4.3 works fine, but I have had to uninstall it, as I am tired of being continuously "reminded" to update to 1.4.4, which I know is faulty.
Correct Identity is an excellent add-on, but it would be nice if we could be advised regarding development plans (if, indeed, there are any). Thanks in advance!

I was missing this add-on; it should be installed as a default in Thunderbird. Thank you for bringing it back.

Same problem here. Send button is greyed out. True on both Mac and Windows.
The issue is definitely caused by Correct Identity; disabling the add-on solves the problem.
However, there's an easy fix: the previous version (1.4.3) still works fine. Just download it and reinstall it over 1.4.4.
It should therefore be pretty simple for the dev to find and resolve the problem. In the meantime, could version 1.4.4 be removed? It is annoying to be constantly asked if I want to upgrade to a version that I know is faulty. Thanks!

If you are having problems with ForecastFox, exit Firefox. Then go to your Firefox profile directory and delete the forecastfox.sqlite file. Restart Firefox and ForecastFox should be working fine. You will probably need to update your personal preferences in ForecastFox options, though.
I have tried this on several computers running both OSX and Windows, and it's worked on all. (I don't know if this also fixes the non-English language problem, as I am not affected; but it certainly fixed everything else for me.)
Please note that, if you are installing ForecastFox from scratch on Firefox 35+, you may have to bump up the max version in the install.rdf.
Provider for Google Calendar

After taking so many potshots as Philipp (and I am as guilty as anyone), we should be grateful that verson 1.0.2 seems to have solved all the earlier problems. It's free, it works and it's indispensable. Also, as most of us had not understood, the change was forced on the dev (though an explanation would have muted most criticisms). Apologies, in any case, for the earlier criticism and thanks again for having brought the add-on back up to scratch.

This was a wonderful add-on. Only now have I realised how much I depended on it! And it was totally free, which was obviously appreciated.
However, the so-called "update" has been a disaster for me and—as the reviews show—for a great many other people. My Google calendars disappeared and Thunderbird constantly froze. Even going back to version 0.32 didn't help. Luckily, I was able to restore a backup of my HDD from ten days ago, and that worked. (However, this is a pretty radical resolution for a problem caused by one TB add-on!)
Of course, the fact that we are talking about a free add-on counts: one can hardly ask for one's money back and we should definitely be grateful for the work the dev has put in for us over the years.
However, one can certainly ask why any changes were made. If it's not broken, why fix it? It was working perfectly! Was it for a university accessment? I don't know, and the dev has refused to volunteer any explanations.
What is demonstrably true is that, if there was any kind of testing, it was of very mediocre kind. The sheer volume of comments shows that the dev has no idea as to how to adquately test a piece of software. I'm afraid that if the new version was to impress his tutors, he has scored a spectacular own goal.
However, I—like so many others on these pages—really appreciated version 0.32, which never had any problems and was so essential as to have seemed built into TB (in fact, it should be!).
Could I therefore suggest a compromise? Leave version 0.32 to those happy with it, and create a fork for the soi-disant "awesome" new version 1.01.
That way, we poor mortal souls who are happy with version 0.32 will not be constantly asked to upgrade to a version that we don't want and which doesn't work, while those who wish to "live on the edge" can harmlessly indulge their kicks.
I repeat, if we are all complaining, it is because we were all using a useful piece of software provided to us without charge; so we should all appreciate what we have been given. However, I do think that the dev has a moral obligation to explain to those whose calendars have disappeared or whose TB has frozen (and who are not lucky enough to have a backup from ten days ago) how to downgrade to version 0.32 and get their calendars back. Or is this not possible?

UPDATE
Thank you for your quick reply, which will help everybody (including myself!) to understand the reasoning behind the update. Actually, your explanation also goes a long way towards clarifying the problems in the new version. Please accept my apologies for my comments, therefore; especially as the fact that 17 Nov is just over a month away means that you really didn't have time to adequately test it before releasing it.
Keychain Services Integration

Everytime it starts on Thunderbird, I am asked to submit various passwords (my Mac password, my Gmail password and so on). Apparently it doesn't remember them. I got so fed up that, to be honest, I am not sure whether it actually works after vaulting the internal hurdles. If it worked like it does on FX, it would be five stars for me; but, at the moment, on TB, it's pretty useless. Just a question: why the completely different functionality on the two Mozilla platforms?
Update: Thank you for your quick reply. I followed your suggestion, but it unfortunately didn't work (incidentally, upon start-up, OS X gives me the choice to "allow" or "deny". There is no option to "always allow". I will contact you directly by e-mail to see if we can resolve this. Thanks again for responding so quickly.
FURTHER UPDATE: I followed up and found that the problem was apparently caused by the Google Contacts add-on. Once I disabled that, Keychain Services Integration started working as stated on Thunderbird. Now integrates perfectly in both TB and FX. The dev is always right ;-) and this is a great add-on.

It works as advertised. The new update has also made a noticeable difference in terms of showing passwords (optional); so much so, that I think that it's now almost perfect. It really should be a default part of Firefox on the Mac.

Assegnate 5 su 5 stelle
This is a really useful extension. It may not seem so at first glance; but I guarantee that, once you've figured out how it works, you won't want to be without it. As the previous reviewer mentioned, it fixes the annoying draft auto-save bug, which has been around for years!

Finally, "print preview" for Thunderbird on the Mac! Works perfectly. Also works fine on Windows. Can be used for Firefox, as well.

Works exactly as says on W7. However, on OSX it does nothing at all. Please specify that is a Windows-only add-on. Thanks.
(Update 15 May 2014)
Mic,
Thanks for your quick reply. The problem with OSX is probably due to the fact that Thunderbird notifications are channelled through Growl. Keep up the good work,
Alexx
(Update 22 May 2014)
Growl notifications remain active even with the "make draft unread" option checked. You will need to test it again on OSX using Growl.

And very useful it is, as well: prevents constant distraction as the junk folders fill up. Thank you.

Now working again with all versions of Thunderbird! This is a pretty necessary add-on for me; so thank you, Karsten.

This has always been an absolutely essential add-on for me, especially the custom header feature. It makes the Thunderbird user experience so much better! Unfortunately, it seems to be broken under TBird 24. Whatever custom headers one chooses, all headers are displayed. I'm hoping that Karsten will be able to fix this soon!

Thanks to Michal for keeping this add-on current and updated. Several Thunderbird themes were broken by TB17, but this one is going strong as ever. Much appreciated!
Questa recensione riguarda una versione precedente (17.0.2) del componente aggiuntivo.Classic Reloaded
Assegnate 1 su 5 stelle
This was my perfect theme for TB. Unfortunately, it has been broken since the release of TB 15 (when the tabs started to have problems) and it was further broken by TB 17 (when a large grey space started appearing under the title bar). It became clear that that this theme is now an orphan, and will have no further updates. I therefore moved to Classic TB2, but that stopped being updated in May 2012. It is broken in TB17 in the same way as Classic Reloaded. The closest working theme that I have found is xpDefault, which is regularly updated. I would recommend it to anyone who used to use either Classic Reloaded or Classic TB2.
Classic TB2

I liked this theme. It was good while it lasted. Unfortunately, it has been broken since the release of TB 17 (large grey area under the title bar), and by now it seems clear that it is not being updated. The closest working theme that I have found is xpDefault, which is regularly updated. I would recommend it to anyone who used to use Classic TB2.
=====
PS: I am adding this after the developer's reply below. First of all, thanks to Corey for replying less than 24 hours after I posted my review. I agree that it's only been a week since TB17 came out, but since the notice that the add-on is still in development was only posted after my comments, I think that my doubts about the extension's future were understandable, especially since the theme was immediately broken with the new TB release.
Since I am responsible for the TB installations of a group of people (most of whom wouldn't recognize an add-on if it spoke to them in the street), I need to give them certainties. To say, "Things will be updated shortly" is acceptable; to say "I don't know what's happening" is not. At that point I have to advise them to what to do to "get their TB back" That xpDefault has continued to work seamlessly with the new TB update is something positive that I cannot ignore.
If Corey could give a quick status update soon after each TB GUI change that impacts Classic TB2, it would be much appreciated. And, as far as I understand, Thunderbird will now be slowing down its rapid release cycle for a while (at least until Firefox reaches number 24); which will be a relief for all of us. The fact that Mozilla has officially announced that it will concentrate on Firefox to the detriment of Thunderbird at least has a silver lining!
In any case, the developer's statement that Classic TB2's development will continue is good news. Looking forward to the next release. Thanks, Corey.
