hi,
thank you for your addon,
Could it be possible to add any search engine we should need for a search, and not only torrents?
I'm looking for customizable meta search addon, but there seems to be none and yours is the closest of what I'm searching...

I have found WAAYY MORE than I expected from this brilliant add-on!!
Almost everything I was curious about - I found with this excellent little tool!!
I am just assuming that the queries that came up blank, are just non-existant!
Thanks, dev!!

Currently the best torrent metasearch engine out there. Others may have more sites, but Torrent Meta Search packs the most features into the smallest, least obtrusive package. Doesn't bombard you with ads, or do who-knows-what like a plug-in or extension.
Besides sortable categories, my favorite feature is that it also shows comments and screenshots on mouseover when available. While it doesn't completely replace every torrent search, it covers the major sites and is generally all you need. THE go-to torrent search engine. You won't be disappointed.

Has a wider coverage than most torrent search engines I've tried (out of three, only this one found any results for my query - which is relevant if you're looking for reeeeally underground stuff like I do), and does not fill your screen with a crapload of ads. A few problems with it, though. First that the links on the left should take you to the main website, not to the feed (which happens in only a few cases), and the "strict search" option is confusing. It also has a number of minor issues (torrents should be ordered by seed amount, not by S/L, and it could have a custom icon instead of the default Firefox puzzle piece), but it's pretty neat for a search engine.
EDIT:
This review was written about a year ago, and since then the author seems to have addressed every single concern I had at the time. Plus, it now contains a number of new features that do nothing but make it even better, while still keeping the interface clean and easy to use (simple is better). I'm changing my original review to 5-stars, for this is now, in my opinion, the best torrent search engine available out there, and I really don't know how to live without it anymore

The creator of Torrent MetaSearch did a great job of not overloading the search engine with excess crap it doesn't need, while ensuring that users have access to exactly what they were hoping for: A Firefox search engine that can quickly scan all the top torrent sites at once.
Plus, offering users the chance to specify which torrent sites to search and how the results are sorted is very helpful. Doubly so since the engine remembers your preferences between uses.
If you find yourself using torrents often -- especially if you tend to look for more obscure items -- download this add-on. It'll spare you minutes of having to surf back and forth through the top sites to find what you're looking for.
Excellent search engine.
