myFireFox & Vista-aero Modifier
Assegnate 4 su 5 stelle
This add-on corrects the glitches of myFirefox to provide a near-perfect copy of IE7's interface. So users who want to mimic IE7 will love it! (1.) The menu bar can be put below the address bar. (2.) The background color can be adjusted (3.) Default icons can be changed (4.) Showcase buttons are hidden when only one tab is active (5). Tab bar buttons are configurable.
Some drawbacks/suggestions for future updates: (1.) The menu toolbar can cause unexpected conflicts (although I haven't experienced this). (2.) It isn't possible to set the background theme to plain gray the way IE7 is rendered on Windows XP. (3.) Cannot style the status bar (4.) Cannot adjust icons on tab bar to show selective text labels
Element Hiding Helper per Adblock Plus
Assegnate 4 su 5 stelle
I installed this add-on today, and it didn't take long for me to realize that this is what I've been looking for!
Adblock Plus is great for blocking stuff from known ad sites, but it is quite useless for integrated content. Well, with this add-on you will be able to block most annoying page sections. I find many sites I regularly visit are cluttered and slow-rendering with too much irrelevant stuff. Now I can easily block that, without using custom Greasemonkey scripts or whatever. Pages render quicker and you get the content you want.
Just one wish, often you block too much content. Then you REALLY need an UNDO block function, because it's a hassle to go through all blocks, trying to locate and delete the bad block! Should be relatively easy to fix.
Mouse Gestures Redox
Assegnate 4 su 5 stelle
Using mouse gestures to send back- and forward commands to the browser makes it so much more convenient to surf the web. If you suffer from "mouse arm" you can now avoid moving the mouse pointer to the back and forward icons all the time. Great for ergonomics!
In fact, this concept is so great so that it should be a part of the OS. I constantly find myself tring to use mouse gestures in the OS... forgetting that I'm not using Firefox... I hope the OpenSource movement will pick up on this.
Some things could be improved. First, the visual trails should be enabled by default so that you can see what you're doing. And then default settings should only incorporate the most common commands, so that the average user doesn't submit strange commands by mistake, so that "right-down" means "right" and so on. I know it's all configurable, but almost nobody will care to dig into that.
