Mail Redirect

It's great. Very useful.
It would be cool to have it be included as a filtering action, as well. That way, Thunderbird could automatically redirect emails based on specified conditions.
ToneQuilla

I love this application. I've been waiting for something like it for years, and have always wondered why a sound selection wasn't included in Thunderbird filter function.
When I'm busy, it's great being able to ignore emails except for those sent by specific recipients. It's like have talking Caller I.D.
Additionally, you can use it at night and set it to only make a sound when emergency emails come in or those from specific senders (e.g., your children, spouse, etc.).
What neostart (another reviewer) mentions about the default sound is true but easily addressed. After creating the ToneQuilla filter(s), simply turn off the default sound and create another ToneQuilla filter that's the opposite of the other(s).
For instance, let's say you want to be alerted when your children email you. Create a filter based on your kids' names (e.g., Sender matches Son's Name and Sender matches Daughter's Name). Then create another filter that's the opposite (e.g., Sender does NOT match Son's Name and Sender does NOT match Daughter's Name). The first filter would have the unique sound selected for your kids (or any others from whom you always want to hear), while the second filter might be associated with the default sound.
The above mentioned technique not only solves the problem that neostart cited, on the top of that, one then has the ability to easily toggle an unlimited number of filters simply using Thunderbird's Message Filter window. I find this comes in handy since I have different preferences depending on the time of day or night.

Mailbox Alert

This is a really nice add-on. It does what I want and does it simply (even though I only use a portion of its feature set). My use is similar to having a telephone that only rings for certain callers. Most of the time, rather than being notified, I want to look for email when I have time -- for instance, those containing receipts, newsletters, jokes, etc. In other cases, I want to be notified when an email has arrived -- for instance, those sent by close friends, server alerts, etc. To solve this, I use Thunderbird's filters to divide incoming email into designated folders, and Mailbox Alert to give me appropriate notifications for each folder -- such as specific sounds for specific senders and no sounds for others. It's extremely convenient.

Today is my day for writing all of the reviews that I should have written awhile ago. This is one of those unsung-hero add-ons. You install it; it works; you never have to think about it; and it solves a major annoyance. It's excellent.
Buttons!

This is another one of those add-ons that I have used for years and should have reviewed a long time ago. It's simple and useful. The Next and Previous buttons (that walk through all messages, not just the unread) are priceless.

I should have reviewed this years ago. It's one of those can't-do-without add-ons. Does one simple, convenient thing without fail. It's great.

Excellent. Exceptionally convenient. UI is simple and friendly. Nice conversational tone in the prompts and explanations. Good set of useful features that aren't overly-technical. Written by a developer who without a doubt cares about delivering useful, quality applications.
