The newest Speed Dial is a little buggy, 'cause if I start the FF with a blank page, it will not work. If I in FF open a new window / tab, it will work again.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.0.2).

Well, it works fine for me... However, it might be a problem with another extension (maybe a session restoring extension?).
