pasteCode could not be installed because it is not compatible with Thunderbird 52.5.2

You're right. I would suggest people move to the "Mardown Here" plugin. I'm trying to figure out how to deprecate this plugin.

This is great. I would like to contribute to this add-on, how can i do it?

Thanks. If you mean contribute technically, I haven't modified it in ages. Feel free to open up the code and make sure it complies with the latest Thunderbird API/style guidelines. I'm sure the whole syntax highlighting guts should really be replaced with some standard library, and this would probably then have support for more than just C/C++.

If you mean how can you contribute financially, I just did it for fun but feel free to donate to the World Wildlife Fund or the charity of your choice on my behalf. Or Mozilla or Mercurial if you want a technical donation.

I'm using it for Java code and it works well. Two things I would like though...

1. An option to strip out leading whitespace
2. It should recognise \" inside strings

It works; but if we talk about HTML code, but it's a bit basic. It highlights things in quotation marks and selected attributes and hyperlinks: that's all. In CSS there are a few keywords as well as comments it will pick up. There are no add-on options so far allowing particular mark-up schemas and apparently no platform for users to develop and submit their own schemas to quickly improve this add-on. But good luck with developing this further.

Great idea. I wonder if you're already planning to offer syntax highlighting for languages like HTML and javascript.
