I tried this on V138 but it doesn't work when I launch TB. It works temporarily only if I go to the Addons page and turn off & on this addon, or open a new tab and go back to the TB main screen. But when I exit TB, the next time I launch, it's not working again, until I "refresh" by (like I mentioned): 1) disabling/re-enabling this addon or 2) opening a tab and going back to the TB main view.
I love it when it works. Thanks. (EDIT: Thanks for your reply. Looking forward to a solution!)
Thanks for pointing this out and for the workaround.
I have the same problem and unfortunately haven't found a good solution yet.
It looks like some functions have changed fundamentally since version 136, so the initial launch of the extension doesn't work as it should.
I'm working on a solution...

Very helpful. Was hoping to find an extension that would let me manaually move around the order of my favorites in compact view. However, this cleaned it up considerable to where it is a lot more useable than it was by default. I'm using tbird with proton, and everything was appended by the main email account originally as well, which was highly annoying.
Only issue since installing this is that my 'sent' folder when used as a favorite says my account email instead of sent and so do all the system folders. Though the icons are enough to figure it out.
Glad the plugin helps.
There is a reason that the system folders are named with the email address. If you have multiple favorites, like Inbox, they would all be called "Inbox" and you wouldn't know which one belongs to which account. Hence the email address to differentiate.
Of course, if you only have one email account, this doesn't matter, but if you have several, it makes a difference.
To create your own collections, you must have a Mozilla Add-ons account.
