Great add-on no longer available in 60+. Need someone to update or recommend an alternative.

I love this add-on -- unfortunately it's not compatible with the latest Thunderbird version 60. Any idea when it will support it?

All I wanted was an addon to open my custom web app in a TB tab. It's a specialized task list/ project manager so having it in TB makes the most logical sense. Every other addon I tried for this didn't work properly at all. This one did, first time, with no fuss and no muss. Thank you!!!

Works well for Google Keep and Facebook Messenger. Am having trouble pairing with WhatsApp though that's the fault of WhatsApp devs NOT this plugin

This is a simple useful addon which does exactly what it says. I wanted to have all my collaboration access from thunderbird and this included task management app "TickTick". I simple configured TickTick to load as a new tab and so far it has been working flawlessly. I don't need to go to the browser now for adding and modifying tasks and have my calendering events & tasks lists side-by-side in Thunderbird :).

i use this addon not just for internet links, but also for local files (using file:/// etc). the only problem is that the options allow you to add and delete entries, but not to edit them. and for local files, of course the icons have to be edited in prefs.js by hand.

but, hey, you can't be perfect. the addon does its basic stuff very well.

Hello,

RE: WebApp Tabs Review for Thunderbird

Starting off, I'm not quite sure why this add-on remains listed as "experimental;" it works with TB 31.2.0.

The add-on has exceptional usage and is why I added it to the Thunderbird Collaboration Suite by VOICE. When using the add-on, end-users can access the properties from add-ons / WebApp Tabs / options. End-user can add their most used websites including HTTPS to the menu list. Each added website creates an icon located in the upper-right side of Thunderbird. Tabs will scroll in the same manner as FFDE.

There are some websites that will not load because it may require Thunderbird passing the call to FF or the default web browser. Some XML applications look specifically for a browser agent and thus won't load in Thunderbird; it's simply web programming framework technology and not a bug in the add-on. Word to the wise, it's useless and doesn't make sense, to use the add-on to include social media or news websites because these websites in general are "badly coded" and are the worst coded websites on the Web.

--- I have nine (9) tabs:
_ ZNotes Forum;
_ Hellofax
_ Evernote
_ Debian's Administrator Handbook
_ Crytonator
_ Crypto-trade
_ Hashie
_ Brightbook Bookkeeping
_ BestChange

You'll notice most of these websites are HTTPS and none of them conflict. I once had my AWS console linked, but I now created a FFDE tab group, so there's no need. By the way, I use my Thunderbird Collaboration Suite by VOICE on a Gateway L2016U netbook; the entire collaboration suite is also cloud adapted with a remote LDAP. So if you have a faster machine and still have problems, don't blame the add-on nor the add-on developer (lol!)

Great Work!

It is a very nice extension if you want to keep everything social in Thunderbird. Unfortunately every new Tab like Facebook will cost you great performance.

Don't use Facebook in it, because this means up to 50% work load on your CPU. G+ with Twitter, HootSuite and Google Calendar open will cost only up to 20% or 50% when browsing.

In general: It is not good for permanent browsing sites because your machine goes hot with that. For simple pages and light status updates it is okay.

This is one of the best productivity add-ons I have found. In one place I have email, social media and monitoring tools, tasks, calendars...who could ask for better organization for productivity! Thank you so much.

This is very useful add-on, especially for any email server supporting webmail only (No POP/IMAP access)

However when I set rediffmail and click icon webpage surely opened thunderbird but also opened in IE (or default browser), but incase built in web apps such action is not seen

also any web app configured in option menu and if some thing goes wrong then it is not possible to edit anything but to remove app and add correct app is the only option, so edit option is required

This is cool. I like having access to Twitter, Facebook and my Google Calendar right in Thunderbird. It works perfectly, just as if I had those sites open in a browser.

I wanted my POPFile interface to appear as a tab in Thunderbird. This extension handles it perfectly, and was a snap to set up.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0).
