strips clipboard content of all rtf formatting (bold, links etc.), degrading it to plain text. FF 56.0.2

Дополнение нужно было для выделения и копирования списков пунктов в фильтрах Яндекс.Маркета, ссылки. После установки ни кнопки на панели, ни пункта в контекстном меню не появилось. Нужного функционала - тоже. А теперь и вовсе "This add-on is not compatible with your version of Firefox".

this extension is maintained by Wips [dot] com - a company that typically packages unwanted tracking/spying code in the extensions they author (or take over)
this extension could, at any time, be 'updated' to include their tracking/spying code and can therefore not be trusted
please add you own review and consider boycotting such unethical companies

Due to some bugs on clipboard, I install the developer edition firefox 45 that will be released in next month in 2016 March. However, the autocopy addon context menu do not shown. Will this cause a bug? Please check. Thanks.
It seems the addon does not work on the developer edition instead of just not show the context menu!!!

First of all: I agree with Faktor12; this is the only copy extension that works.
From ghacks.net article (scroll to the bottom):
[Update: Statement from Mozilla
It appears you tested Version 1.0.8 of AutoCopy. This version is not sending all browsing data to Wips. That can be verified by looking at the source code or installing version 1.0.8 and looking at the network traffic.
After version 1.0.8, Wips submitted a new version of Autocopy that sent more data, but that version didn't pass review. Version 1.0.8 is the latest public version available on Mozilla add-ons and what the majority of users have installed.]
Anyway, I use prior version, 1.0.2, because the new version has plus only "blacklist" feature. But last version seems ok.
I think Wips no longer interested in this extension. Anymore. On their site, I don't see Autocopy in their project list.

this is a great work

Despite all misgivings about tracking, this is only automatic coping extension that works.
And about tracking. I would expect extension with tracking to be updated way more frequently. They definitely do not send info on coping immediately. I checked traffic with Fiddler and no data is sent. If they send it in batches, which host do they send information to?
To be safe I just removed
wips.js
wipstats.js
from extension folder. It may have being too late but well, extension still works.

WIPS.COM'S EXTENSION SERVICE COLLECTS AND STORES INFORMATION ABOUT THE WEB PAGES YOU VIEW. IN SOME CASES, INFORMATION COLLECTED BY THE EXTENSION SERVICE MAY BE PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE, BUT PRIVACY IS IMPORTANT AT WIPS.COM, AND WE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ANALYZE WEB USAGE DATA TO DETERMINE THE IDENTITY OF ANY WIPS.COM USER.
The company responded to several user reviews confirming the ownership change as well and that the extension was sending statistics to company servers.
"Hi,there is no need to worry, we provide this add-on for free without any spyware, spam or advertising.
You can turn the stats off in the options."
Martin from ghacks contacted the company to find out more about this. Lukas Marek, the company CEO told Martin that the extension was not sending any browsing data- but did so in the past - and that the connections that are still made by the extension are for analytical purposes only. Martin can confirm, is that the extension is still contacting servers on every page load of the browser.
Stay Way from this Add-on

SPYWARE -- DO NOT INSTALL -- YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
After sending an email to the author, giving them a chance to deny that this extension is Spyway and them not responding, I am willing to proclaim that this extension IS SPYWARE.
Anyone can confirm this for themselves as this author does not try to hide it, in fact they have links on their site that send you to pages that are trying to sell the same SPYWARE to others.
DO NOT USE THIS EXTENSION UNLESS YOU DO NOT CARE IF YOUR EVERY MOVE IS BEING MONITORED AND SOLD TO WHO KNOWS WHAT UNSCRUPULOUS INDIVIDUALS/COMPANIES WITH NO REGARD TO YOUR PRIVACY.

Developer needs to confirm immediately if this addon is sending out ANY info.
Been using this addon for a long time, and just looked at source. Wips.com is scattered throughtout the sources in the javascript files."
So, could you answer? If it is true, what type of info is?

When I highlight the text on website like
http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm
it does NOT create a CR/LF at the end of each paragraph. So when I highlight a few paragraph, this auto copy merges all the paragraph in 1 big paragragh. Totally defeat the purpose of auto copy on more than 1 paragraph

I don't see how this is spying.... but safety first.
I like the idea and the functionality. If this is malicious then the developer should make a fix anytime soon
