Life changing add on for people with multiple monitors (Even 1 monitor it comes in handy), can't recommend enough if your the type of person who takes advantage of multiple windows and tabs.

To the developers:
What needs to happen to get this updated to Quantum?
I am perfectly willing to donate to the cause if needed.

I have held off the Firefox 57 upgrade because of lack of compatibility with this add on. I have installed Firefox ERS to give me a little bit more time. But I think support ends a few months for ERS, and I have heard great things about Quantum, but I have yet to use it as my daily driver because of this add on.

Thanks for giving us such a wonderful program.

Too complicate to use. I've installed it, because I needed an easy way to move tabs between different FF windows and spend 10min to figure out what's the purpose/features of this plugin.

Es posible una version compatible para nuevo Firefox?

This is the extension I miss the most on Firefox 57. The only one I've found that even attempts it is https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/otherwindow/, but it is a poor substitute. Anyone find any thing else that works as good as Window Master?

Please make this compatible with Quantum! I loved it so much!

I second the plea to update Window Master for Quantum. Its a must for mult-monitor systems.

Please UPDATE Your add-in. It is not yet compatible with Firefox Quantum and its really useful to run Firefox full screen on multiple monitors system startup.

Great extension but doesn't work in firefox quantum. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any addon which does what this one did. It was very useful for my multi monitor setup :/

After latest Win10 update it doesn't work.

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

it reset my DPI settings ( layout.css.devPixelsPerPx ) without asking and setting it back to the old value

Unfortunately, certain functions in Mozilla Firefox do not handle scaling correctly for multiple screens when layout.css.devPixelsPerPx is set manually. This user preference must be reset to enable Window Master to function correctly. Just uninstall Window Master and reset your user preference if you wish to use the flawed Firefox code.

if you're using multi monitor, you must definitely install this add-on.

This was exactly what I was looking for in Chrome but couldn't find. Specifically moving one tab to other window on other monitor. Tested that and works well!

I can see the effort is there, but none of the region controls displayed on screenshots are showing up for me. Window Master toolbar icons are there, but only display the settings menu.

I'm on Linux, Gnome 3.20 Wayland

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (7.3).

Window Master should work fine with e10s, but it may fail on Linux if your screens are not configured as an extended desktop (although a control for a single screen should still be shown in that case). Has it worked on your system before e10s was switched on?

You may want to try the following: Open the Browser Console with Ctrl+Shift+J and then disable and re-enable Window Master in the Add-ons Manager. If Window Master works after that, it is probably an application start-up issue. In case it does not, you may want to check whether an error is logged in the Browser Console which refers to Window Master; if so, please report the error message back to me.

This add-on worked fine up until firefox 47. Now it will only detect one monitor. No graphical image for second monitor in menu's - no longer moves window to second monitor when you press the tool-bar button.

UPDATE: My OS is Windows 7 64bit and I am running version 7.2 of your extension. No relative information in the browsers console.

If I manually move the browser to the second monitor, the graphical interface on the tab no longer works. As soon as I move the browser back to my 'main' screen the interface works but I can still only see that monitor.

I changed my main monitor and the problem is reversed.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (7.2).

It would be nice if you would at least report your OS, since I can't reproduce this on Windows 7 or 10 (or I would have repaired it). You should make sure that you run the latest version of this extension and you might want to check the browser console (Ctrl-Shift-J) to see whether anything related to Window Master is being logged.

I've used this plugin and find out that it is useful when I try to open lot's of windows in different screen. However, it can't detect any windows except major screen. It is strange that it can detect all off screens when I install it at first time, while it lost this function when I restart my Fx. Can you help to fix this bug, or just something I misunderstand of usage?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (7.1).

Does the new version 7.2 still have this start-up issue?

Good add-on filling the gap of Firefox missing "Move Tabs to Existing Window" functionality. Since it equally targets single and multi-monitor systems, would be great to show existing windows clearly recognizable for easier target window selection.

Open windows can be presented in Context Menu under currently active in each window Tab names, or shown as small popup one tab pictures similar to Windows Taskbar icons behavior on hover. But they should be easily recognizable anyway. IMHO, its the major drawback of this add-on for now. Hopefully, will be fixed in the next update. But its approach of easily separating tabs between different monitor screens is unique.

Also, on FF toolbar the WM icon dropdown options better contain intuitive icons, with Tooltips for each option shown on mouse hover. As well, when "Move Tab to a new Window (free space)" is chosen, an option for Cascading the new window with existing ones would help, instead of placing it in-line, even for a single small monitor with little unoccupied screen space, so the new window is created very narrow.

You might want to hire me for a few days/weeks to enable me to implement your suggestions.

Right now merging and moving is tricky, as you can only create a new window from the initial window tabs. Created window tabs only have merge option.

It would be nicer if it just allowed you to split number the windows and then allow you to move tabs to a numbered window. So 0-3 and you select which window the tab should be moved to.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (7.0).

All tabs have both move and merge options, so your first remark makes no sense to me. (You do need to have multiple regions per screen to be able to distinguish between screen regions and existing windows as a target).

Numbering windows or screens is possible, but the order is arbitrary and therefore numbers are not very helpful (except for minimized or covered windows).

This seems like a cool Add-On but to be honest, all I'm really looking for is a right menu command to move the tab to an EXISTING window..note I'm not talking about the less necessary, yet readily available, New Window..

I figured out how to drag a tab in window A to and already maximized Window B...

But what if Window B is minimized?..what if I want to move the tab to Window C, another minimized window..

The old method, which for some unexplained reason, is no longer included in ff, had a "Move to existing window and then showed the choices of open windows(minimized or not)..we'd just simply click on the one we wanted to move it to and walla..done!

So sad really.....

btw, this is not this developers issue..although I would like to be able to accomplish moving a tab to a minimized window..which I can't seem to figure out how to do with this app

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (6.7).

I think the functionality you are referring to was once realized by the "OpenInWindow" extension, but it does not seem to work any more.

It is true that the graphical controls of Window Master cannot be used with minimized windows.
I'll consider restoring the more traditional context menu items for screens and windows in the next version.

Essential addon when having more than one monitor. In the last version the WM blue icon vanished (the button is blank) but it still works.
Edited: Thanks for the reply! After some tests I've found out that it only happens when I have the "Classic Toolbar Buttons" addon enabled, so I think that's the cause.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (6.6.1-signed).

Thank you for the positive review.

Perhaps you could let me know whether the icon is invisible no matter where the button is placed (tab bar, navigator bar, panel), what your OS and Firefox version are and whether you have any (complete) themes installed. This information may help me to find the cause. I may need to add some CSS rules for certain themes, given that the icon is pure CSS.

Edit: Classic Toolbar Buttons did not seem to have any negative effect on my system (Firefox 38 on Windows 7). Are you able to identify precisely what option causes this?
