Contacts Sidebar
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Love this add on, but not compatible with TB 9.
Appears to work if you do the following: (keep in mind that this technique tells TB that Contacts Sidebar is compatible. No guarantee that it actually is):
1. Download the add on to your download folder as you normally would
2. Change the extension from .xpi to .zip (you will get a warning -- allow the change)
3. Unzip the zip folder
4. Open the file install.rdf
5. Move the cursor to the extreme right off the page and change the <em:maxVersion>8.9.*</em:maxVersion>
to <em:maxVersion>9.0.*</em:maxVersion>
6. Save the file install.rdf. and exit
7. Change the extension name back to .xpi.
8. Install into TB as usual from Add On menu

Of course WW+ has not been compatible for some time without messing with the installation file.
TO DEEP.
If you are able to pick up the ball from Mr Tech who seems to have abandoned this add-on, PLEASE DO. I would love to have it back.

Loved this add-on. Note the past tense.
I used the fix to the installation file to make it compatible with TB 4 and 5 but have not attempted with TB 6 or 7.
Has anyone had success.
I would love to use this add-on again, but for now it is useless

I'm sorry.
I love this add-on and use it. But the only way to get a version compatible with FF 6 (or 5 for that matter) is to download a pre-release from the developers web site.
How can it be rated as "Featured". when it is not even available fro Mozilla? When was the "Featured" list last updated?
Country Lookup

This add-on does exactly what it says it will do.
Gives you (along with much more) a flag telling you the country of the IP address. And of course, if the sender's e-mail provider is Hotmail.com the flag produced will be a Stars and strips. What do you expect?
Where this is particularly useful is when you get an e-mail purporting to come from ypur bank and the flag generated is from the Dominican Republic. A good indicator it is a scam.
Other curiosities like the flag produced tells you that "The Independent" newspaper in the UK uses an internet service provider in the Netherlands.
Anyone complaining that the country identified is not identical with the residence of the sender is incredibly naive. How else, other than the ISP address do you think this add-on can find a location?
Great Add-on! Hope you will update for TB 5.

C'mon people. This is a great add-on! Open source software does not mean that we can expect to always get something for nothing and that developers should work for nothing. I don't expect you work for nothing.
If you use this extension and you like it, and you want to be able to continue to use it in future MAKE A DONATION.
Or else kiss it good-bye.

The latest version available at the developers web site works fine on TB 3.1.6.
Customizable date format is terrific.
Great little add on. Thanks

I'm now retired, so, I don't have to make that "walk down the hall" to deliver someone else's "you got a phone call" message sticky.
When I was employed professionally, this would have been very useful, and a time saver.
One thought for an enhancement -- just visual. Most people receive e-mails in graphical format (HTML). If you could tweak the add-on to send the note in graphical form resembling the input screen, it would be more attention-getting, more elegant, and would earn 5 stars from me.

This extension easily performs an essential task if you commonly attach photos or jpeg images to your e-mails.
