Wow - talk about BAD INSTRUCTIONS from the developer of this. . o O ( sigh )
I was correct (for the most part on my thoughts - that the instructions were seriously missing something.)
Follow the instructions from the below LINK and it will work! :D I just had my calendar get ALL my appointments and such from Google Calendar!!
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-lightning-google-calendar
Again - follow it carefully and it will work.
I'm still giving it a LOW RATING - because the developer should have known this from the start and/or at least LINKED us to this site.

I'm giving it a 1 - > Until I get an answer on how to get this to work.
Here is why.
I'm just got this all - "highly recommended by a friend" - who does not happen to use Google Calendar and I do. As I need this feature to keep my Cell and Tablet "in the know" - I have read - re-read and re-read again. The instructions make no sense:
And I quote:
* Open your Google Calendar
... Done ... :)
* Click on the Settings link located in the box at the right of the page.
... DONE ... :)
* Click on the calendar you want to use with Thunderbird Lightning or Sunbird.
... NOT DONE ... as these do NOT show as options to click. :(
* Click on either of the two XML buttons shown at the bottom.
... NOT DONE ... as again - there are NO OPTIONS in the Google Menu to click.
Where did you get these instructions???? (As I have read - there are a number of people that do NOT see these options.)
I can only think, there is a seriously MISSING STEP.
Like is there a step that is needed in the actual Add-On Calendar settings that is not being posted in the instructions? That is the only thing that I can think of - because I'm going - Doesn't the Add-On need to know where to "look"??? *Obvious answer is YES! But that is not a step that I read.
Please answer this, or I just wasted some valuable time spinning my wheels in mud and I really do not like doing that!
